Eighteen individually themed cabins set into the hillside overlooking the south coast of Scotland with stunning sea views.
Set in the hills overlooking the sea on a 250-year-old converted farmstead, Sea View Snugs show off the best of Scotland’s South Coast. Located in the region of Dumfries and Galloway, there are eighteen snugs to choose from, all catering comfortably for a couple with children's beds available, and two have accommodation for up to four guests. The snugs each have their own theme and have been furnished to pay homage to an element of the natural landscape around them. For example, celebrate some of the local wildlife in The Burrow or The Coop, which have been named for the bunnies and pheasants that roam the hillsides. Or, there’s The Shore with its coastal theme, acknowledging the sweeping sea views. The Ben is named after Ben John, the hill that sets the backdrop for the snugs and incorporates some traditional tartan in its furnishings.
All the snugs feature a luxurious king-size bed and sliding patio doors through which you can enjoy the stunning views. Snuggle up at night, or even sit out on your terrace on warmer evenings, and watch thousands of stars appear. If you’ve booked one of the five snugs that also has a hot tub, sit out under a starry sky with a glass of something bubbly in hand for a really special evening.
Each of the snugs has a fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a modern en-suite shower room with a double shower. There are also two family-sized snugs, Coastal Crib and Daisy Den, which feature an additional bedroom and sleep up to four in total. If you’re looking to bring the dog along too, make sure you book Hillside Hideout, The Ben or The Paddock.
The Sea View Snugs are set on a private 1,000-acre estate with facilities that make it the perfect venue for anything from a couple’s escape to rural Scotland, to a big event like a Wedding. Gather, the stylish new on-site bistro, is built into the hillside and has a glass front to make the most of the stunning sea views. It serves fresh and delicious locally sourced food.
Venture further into Dumfries and Galloway and you’ll discover sandy beaches and rocky shoreline along the coast and miles of forest as you move inland. This rustic setting offers endless excitement in the form of outdoor activities, from walking and biking to sailing and windsurfing. There's plenty of culture too, with castles to visit, Scotch whisky tastings at distilleries and even a botanic garden to discover.
