Domes by the Sea are a group of fabulous, self-catering geodomes in Kirkcudbright, all of which sleep two. Absolutely ideal for a romantic getaway, both of the Domes offer woodburning stoves, with Pegasus also boasting its own private hot tub. Pegasus and Orion are the perfect retreat for nature lovers, no matter the weather. If you stay during the summer, you can enjoy the long, warm days relaxing in the sunshine on the shared grassland that lies in front of you. Come during the winter, and you can take in the panoramic views of the snowy landscape thanks to the Domes' generous windows.
And if you want something more luxurious, then opt for Hercules or Andromeda. These two Domes feature large glass doors instead of a bay window that opens up onto the deck outside. This allows you to bring the outside in during warmer days and enjoy the fresh country air as you relax in bed. The deck on these two Domes is also larger, offering you more space to spread out and unwind.
These Domes are all perfect for stargazing too, and thanks to its rural location, light pollution is kept to a minimum. Relax in the comfort of the hot tub (each Dome has a private hot tub) and gaze up at the sky. You'll be discovering constellations you never knew existed! Noise pollution is likewise not something you'll have to worry about on the property and this private tract of farmland is the ideal place to unwind and unplug while enjoying a slower pace of life.
All of the Domes are equipped with everything you need to pamper yourself and your travel partner during your stay. Home to modern kitchenettes with an electric hob, kettle and fridge, guests can whip up either simple, light meals or culinary masterpieces. Additionally, all Domes are home to king size beds and ensuite walk-in showers and toilets for convenience's sake. Orion and Andromeda are also pet-friendly, so if you're staying in one of them, you can bring your canine companion with you.
If you fancy a night in, then you won't need to worry about feeling bored at Domes by the Sea. All are home to smart TVs in their living areas as well as WiFi, so you should have everything you need to entertain yourself and your travel companion. If you feel like venturing further afield, though, then charming Kirkcudbright has plenty to do and see. The town is home to various art galleries, restaurants and a quaint harbour offering a lovely place for a walk.
Guests looking to sample some of the finest views that Scotland has to offer can make the short trip up to Galloway Forest Park, Britain's largest forest park, which is a half-hour drive from the property. Home to stunning mountains, rolling hills, glassy lochs and ample walking and cycling paths, Galloway is a must-see for nature lovers in particular.

Leave a reviewI stayed in Andromeda with my partner for 3 nights at the beginning of October. The dome was a lot bigger than I expected! Very comfortable for our stay. The dome was stocked with essentials like tea, coffee, milk and then there were some extra treats like biscuits and a bottle of wine! We really enjoyed having our own decking with the hot tub which is lovely and warm. It was nice and private and nice to top the end of each day. Also loved getting the log burner going! The location is fab if you enjoy the outdoors and being a bit ‘off-grid’. Some great walks and beautiful scenery around. I’d say a car is a must as the domes are in quite a remote location. It’s also worth visiting Galloway forest if you get the chance. I’d definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back again in the future.

First class stay. 2 nights in the lovely Andromeda dome. Super clean, tidy, well stocked. Log burner was class, lovely decking with hot tub. Very comfy, spacious. Great get away for a few nights. Lovely walks up the headland with great views of Isle of Man etc. Didn't catch the lads name but local farmer was super friendly and helpful during the stay. Highly recommended place.

We had the most amazing stay in Pegasus. The dome was so cosy, homely and extremely clean (felt brand new!). The hot tub was on and ready to use when we arrived, and plenty of wood for the fire. The location is perfect - quiet, dark to see the stars and right by the water to see the sunset. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Thanks again.

Just back from 4 night stay in domes. Amazing accommodation set in the most beautiful setting just a 2 min walk to sea. Domes have everything you need and are fitted out to a high standard, luxurious furnishings and great attention to detail. It was 29 degrees when we stayed but cool enough in domes to sleep at night. Great stay, would definitely recommend

We had the best stay in Pegasus. The owners have such an attention to detail. We booked hampers and balloons which they put up for our anniversary. They were very responsive and made us feel like we were at home. The hot tub under the stars was definitely a highlight. The dome literally had everything we needed right down to eggs and milk so we did slightly over pack. The town near by is stunning also! We will definitely book again the future.

Absolutely fab weekend away. The Dome was lovely and all the extra little touches added such as flowers, wine, croissants from the local bakery etc were nice. Lots of information provided for what to do nearby as well as for inside the dome. Lovely and clean ready for us going in. Would definitely book again ????

The domes are luxurious with very high quality bedding and towels, a powerful shower and hot water. Everything you need is provided in a well equipped kitchen and they are very eco friendly using responsibly sourced products. The location is fabulous , so quiet and we were lucky enough on the second night to have a clear sky with the most amazing view of the stars. It’s ideal for a relaxing break with beautiful scenery and interesting walks.
