Stunning timber and glass longhouse, stylish and modern yet warm and welcoming, surrounded by the glorious Scottish Highlands.
Tucked away against the wild Perthshire hills, surrounded by lochs and Munros, this stunning timber and glass property is a stylish, warm and welcoming place to make the most of this fabulous location. Guests arriving on the large gravel driveway are greeted by this modern take on the traditional longhouse where they can enjoy a restful, comfortable stay in style, whatever the weather or time of year.
At the heart of the magnificent home is a feature wood burner, providing warmth and entertainment. Snuggle up on cold, rainy nights on the cosy mid-century sofas and watch the flames flicker while listening to the wind and rain outside. The vaulted ceiling and huge windows bring in pools of natural light to the space, while attractive pendant lights swing from the rafters providing atmospheric lighting after the sun has set behind the nearby hills.
The beautiful kitchen has everything cooks need for making the most of the incredible local produce. Alongside the Miele built-in appliances, there is a range cooker, large fridge/freezer and a warming drawer. A large island adds extra counter space for chopping and peeling, or for guests to lean against while pouring drinks and keeping the hardworking cook company.
When dinner is ready, the sleek wooden dining table is positioned adjacent to floor to ceiling windows, so guests are treated to views of the lovely garden and beyond while they enjoy lengthy mealtimes together. In warmer months, take advantage of the long evenings and enjoy supper outside. Under the wooden porch, which wraps around the house, guests will find an outdoor dining set and lounge furniture. But, whatever the time of year, be sure to take some time outside at night - the dark, light-pollution free skies are a breathtaking treat.
Youngsters will love the enclosed gardens where large rocks provide great hiding spots and the lawn makes an ideal spot for games. Parents can sit in the warmth of the house able to keep a close eye on the fun and games.
When it's time to turn in for the night, chose from three equally luxurious bedrooms, a master en suite with king sized bed, a double and a twin room. A large family bathroom has a powerful walk-in shower and freestanding tub for sinking into after a day exploring the Highlands.
The Longhouse is wonderfully located for those inspired by the Perthshire countryside. Lovers of the great outdoors can fish lochs, bag Munros and hike and cycle the exhilarating trails. There is a wealth of castles and distilleries to discover in the area too. The pretty town Aberfeldy is a short drive away and is filled with independent shops and places to indulge in some good food and drink including The Watermill, Three Lemons and The Townhouse.
