Accommodating up to six guests, the Mid Coullie Cottage is a rural gem surrounded by beauty with plenty to see and do nearby. Nestle into the Andrew Martin sofa and take in the valley views from the sunroom before watching your favourite streaming service on the satellite TV. Then get cosy in the den, a perfect setting for a game or a drink or two, complete with beanbags, a record player and games. There's also a cosy snug, where you can have a morning coffee, play backgammon and chess or drink some delicious cocktails. Teenagers often love to hang out in the snug.
When bellies start rumbling, head to the stylish kitchen to prepare a delicious meal with the oil-fired stove. Rustle up some pre-dinner drinks from the corner bar and ice from the large fridge/freezer. For something a little healthier, a high-speed Sage blender and Omega juicer are available on request. Underfloor heating in the sitting area and kitchen will keep toes warm, and there's a seat for everyone at the Danish dining table.
When it's time to retire for the evening, head to one of the comfortable bedrooms to relax and unwind; all have views to enjoy. Two double bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with a double, have views over the garden. You can also see the valley from the double bed, and the twin bedroom looks up the hill.
Take a moment to yourself in the bath (or the walk-in shower) in the shared family bathroom and relax with your thoughts after a day wandering the picturesque surroundings. There's a loo downstairs for added convenience.
Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element here. Mountain bikers and dog walkers will love the trails on your doorstep, with the Coullie Woods just a 10-minute walk away, leading into Drumtochty and Fetteresso Woods.
St. Cyrus National Nature Reserve is just a 15-minute drive (or an hour's cycle if you fancy stretching the legs), perfect for letting the dogs run free and breathing in the fresh coastal air. For another vantage point, take a paddle tour between Stonehaven and Dunnottar, complete with views of Dunnottar Castle. You could also visit the RAF Air Station or take the kids to the community-run 'den', just a few minutes' drive away. After your adventures, head to Balmakewan Farm Shop for Sunday lunch or enjoy a pint at the Balmakewan Beer Garden on a warmer evening.
