Perched right on the shores of the Kyles of Bute, The Hollies is an imposing and historic detached house steeped in local history, available to rent for groups of up to eighteen guests. This is an ideal spot for people looking to stay in a self-catered house with water access in a picturesque and charming area. Offering spacious accommodation for larger groups in a stylish and comfortable historic home, The Hollies is beautifully laid out, and kitted out, indoors and outside with everything you could need for a restorative time away in delightful coastal Scotland.
The Hollies feels as though it was designed for large-scale whole family or group celebratory meals, with an open plan kitchen-cum-dining room which acts as a central hub for the house. This area functions as a meeting space in the morning for coffee before everyone heads out for the day's activities, and a de-briefing room for unwinding as the evening starts. In the kitchen, nothing has been overlooked in creating a truly exceptional cooking space. It is hand-crafted from wood, finished with quartz countertops and boasts world-class amenities throughout. As well as two large scale fridges, a range, oven and microwave and two dishwashers. The space has an integrated Sonos entertainment system, making it ideal for celebrations. As far as communal areas for socialising go, there is also a lounge with a fireplace and staggeringly beautiful views, and a games room, also Sonos equipped, with a large HDTV, a seven foot pool table and a games console.
Sleeping accommodation is spread between eight bedrooms, named after Scottish pop bands from the 1980s. There is a ground floor bedroom with step-free access, an en-suite bathroom, and French doors to a small patio. There are five bedrooms on the first floor, facing the Kyles of Bute, and all with en-suites, and a further two rooms in the attic above, which share a large bathroom with luxury fittings. Outside, there is a substantial terrace, with a boules court, a barbecue, a seating area and of course extraordinary vistas of the Kyles of Bute.
The village of Tighnabruaich offers everything you could need from a Scottish village, from excellent local eateries to hiking trails and access to the water. This region is abundant in historic pubs, many of which offer fantastic contemporary Scottish food, with seasonal menus emphasising local fish, game and produce. There is also a renowned sailing club and sailing school, as well as the famous Kyles of Bute Golf Club and a spa. The beautiful beach at Ostel Bay also worth a visit and is widely regarded to be one of the finest in Scotland.
