A luxurious 19th century villa with stunning views over Oban Bay, gorgeous interiors, cinema room and hot tub.
Throughout this 19th century villa, 21st century sensibilities and modern artwork combine with original fixtures, creating a modern aesthetic with one eye firmly on the property's roots. And apart from looking fantastic, its amenities are second to none. The property comes complete with a cinema room, a hot tub with amazing views, and a pool table. All this, and it sleeps up to 22 guests, making this the perfect retreat for birthdays, weddings, or any other gathering. So, for those looking to live in the lap of luxury in a location whose beauty will rival anywhere in the UK look no further than The Drury.
Guests will enter through the impressive entrance hall which boasts oak flooring and a striking feature staircase. A spacious cinema room contains a huge modular sofa which faces the massive wall-mounted flat screen TV, while an additional sitting room has three sofas set around a cosy fireplace. The minimalist kitchen comes fully equipped and benefits from an eight-seater breakfast table, and a separate dining room has two large 12-seater tables. Here, the imposing box bay window bathes the room in natural light and offers views over Oban. A butler's pantry with a wine fridge connects the kitchen and dining room.
The Drury has 11 bedrooms in all: three king size (two ensuite), six super king size (one ensuite with dressing room and two which can function as twins), one ensuite double, and one twin bedroom. Additionally, there are two WCs, two wet rooms, and one family bathroom. Most of the rooms offer sea views and three also look towards McCaig's Folly.
Separate from the main house is the games room, complete with table tennis, a pool table, and couches. The sloping garden overlooks Oban bay - providing uninterrupted views - while the outdoor furniture offers the perfect vantage point from which to take in the stunning vistas with an evening nightcap. There is also a pathway and terracing outside and a fire pit with logs provided, meaning you can sit outside and stay cosy long into the night.
Oban has long been popular as a resort town, with lots of little shops, café, bars, and restaurants to pop into. Local attractions include the Oban Distillery, The Oban War and Peace Museum, and a yearly Highland Games, known as the Argyllshire Gathering (normally held in late august). Should you wish to explore the region, then there are numerous walking and hiking trails to accompany the striking scenery. If you want to venture further, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park are less than an hour's drive to the east, while the Scottish Highlands are approximately 90-minutes north.

Leave a reviewOne of the best get aways ever! The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk to Obans Main Street for local cafes, fish and chips or the ferry to the Isle of Mull. The rooms and the views were spectacular and by keeping many of the original features but furnishing the home in a modern manner this lodge is truly beautiful. The hot tub, games shed and outdoor space really tie it all together so no matter the weather there is something to do. We were lucky enough to have good weather so were able to have a BBQ on the fire pit which I would definitely recommend. All 14 of us said we would definitely stay again.
