The Granary at Manor Bottom is a stylish and sustainable barn conversion sitting in idyllic countryside on the Isle of Wight’s southern tip. A charming and comfy retreat for groups of up to four guests, this marvellous barn offers minimalist interiors and a fab courtyard garden with a swimming pool.
Recently renovated, The Granary was once two adjoining agricultural buildings, but now offers small groups of family or friends a peaceful retreat set in countryside not far from the sea on the Isle of Wight. As you enter, you’ll love the bright interiors, with modern minimalist design combining with huge windows to create a vibrant space that nicely connects you to the outdoors.
Gather with your loved ones in the lounge, where a sofa sits next to a log-burner which keeps you warm and toasty whatever the weather outside. There’s also a record player here and a collection of great books for you to choose from. So, you can sit with a novel in front of the flames in peace or grab a drink and get comfy in the chairs as you gaze out at the garden with your favourite album spinning away.
If the sun is shining you’ll want to head out to the courtyard garden where the swimming pool invites you to cool off with a mid-afternoon dip. You can also get comfy on a sun lounger by the water’s edge and relax in peace. Also outside, a fabulous alfresco dining table sets the scene for sunny afternoon lunches.
When it comes to meal prep, the modern kitchen is sleek and equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare hearty meals during your stay. There’s also a spacious dining table here, should you wish to enjoy dinner inside.
As night falls, head to the two charming bedrooms, both of which have been designed to provide you with a peaceful night’s sleep. One of the bedrooms has a king size bed and the other can be arranged as a super-king size or twin room.
When it comes to filling your days, wander through the tranquil grounds, spotting birds and wildlife as you go. For those craving adventure, a woodland hike leads you up to St. Boniface Down, the highest point on the Island, where breathtaking sea views stretch before you, or look back to admire the rolling landscape. From here, descend into the charming seaside town of Ventnor, where you’ll find a quaint beach, fantastic eateries and a mix of quirky independent shops waiting to be explored.
