Overlooking the town of Ventnor and out to the English Channel you will find the modernist marvel that is Seagrass. This architect-designed holiday home's elevated position provides gorgeous views over Ventnor and out to sea, while its various mod cons make for the most comfortable self-catering stay possible. Seagrass has been meticulously designed, both inside and out, where the modern décor and furnishings perfectly complement the cutting-edge exterior. It benefits from three outdoor spaces and its location makes for the ideal base from which to explore all that the Isle of Wight has to offer. Sleeping a maximum of four guests across two bedrooms, this is the perfect bolt hole for small families or a couple of couples.
Upon entering, you will come upon the open-planned living area. The lounge has ample seating, a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner, and a terrace with sliding patio doors and a marvellous 180-degree sea view - the house's most striking feature. The state-of-the-art kitchen comes fully equipped with all mod cons while the dining area comfortably seats four guests. There are two bedrooms, both of which have impressive picture windows. One of the rooms functions as a twin or a king size and the other has a double bed with an ensuite shower room. There is a separate shared bathroom too with a WC, basin, and spacious walk-in shower. Step outside the house where you will have three spaces to choose from: the sea-facing landscaped garden with patio and BBQ, a separate G&T terrace, or the south facing living room decking. These all offer marvellous spots to relax with your loved ones whatever the time of day.
Ventnor is situated on the southern coast of the beautiful Isle of Wight and has a history stretching back to the Victorian era - a character which is evidenced to this day. Although small, Ventnor beach is one of the island's most popular beaches. Attractions include the Ventnor Botanical Gardens, while there is a local arts scene that is very lively for a town of its size. The yearly Ventnor Fringe Festival and Ventnor Carnival - purported to be the second oldest carnival in the UK - are exciting events in the summer months. The surrounding countryside is very popular with walkers and hikers too, and many have been known to spend the day hiking up St. Boniface Down, which, at 791 ft., is the highest point on the island. Should you wish to explore further, the island's capital of Newport is less than a 25-minute drive north.

Leave a reviewWhat a beautiful place to stay - Seagrass was the perfect base for our family of 4 to explore the island. So we'll equipped, and glorious views and outside space. Our children enjoyed exploring through the telescope and binoculars, and making use of the garden for BBQs. Ventnor is a lovely town, with lots to explore and a lovely beach - our favourite of the several we visited during our stay. We also made full use of the Ventnorian ice cream parlour, best ice creams we've had. We'll be back.
