Off the beaten track and nestled in nature, this quirky round house offers a peaceful rural getaway to remember. Perfectly positioned within a small estate, complete with its very own castle, you’ll find yourselves surrounded by woodlands yet only moments from the sea.
Clad in charred larch with orange window frames, this uniquely designed property certainly has the wow factor. And inside you’ll find everything you need to ensure a relaxing, comfortable stay.
At the heart of The Drum is the open plan living area with its wonderful high ceilings. In this light and airy space, you can relax on the plush velvet sofa, cosy up around the wood burning stove and spot red squirrels playing amongst the trees outside.
The contemporary kitchen area is well equipped with everything you’ll need to whip up a feast, including a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. Essentials such as tea, coffee pods, sugar, salt and pepper, olive oil and vinegar are supplied and you’ll also receive a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter and eggs to get you started.
When it’s time for lights out, head for the calming oasis of the curved bedroom where you’ll find a comfortable king size bed, made up with fresh white sheets, to help promote a good night’s sleep. And in the morning, the refreshing rainfall shower in the contemporary shower room will leave you feeling wide awake and ready to start the day.
Heading outside through the double French doors, you’ll find a patio with a table for two. From here, you’ll be treated to superb woodland views as you enjoy an alfresco meal or your favourite sundowner. There’s also a BBQ for cooking up a flame grilled feast and a fire pit to keep you warm on chilly evenings.
The Drum is located seven miles from the fishing village of Tarbert, with its pretty harbour front and backdrop of rugged hills. Here you can explore a 14th century castle, discover a tiny shell beach, purchase the catch of the day from one of the local fishmongers or catch a ferry to one of the nearby islands.
