If you’ve dreamed of totally disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a stay at the Croft Collective will allow you to switch off and reconnect with the surrounding landscape. Set on a secluded farm, this peaceful sanctuary offers the unique opportunity to explore ancient oak forests, wild swim in the sea and appreciate the local wildlife. Seals, eagles and a host of other birds and animals are regular visitors to the local area. This off-grid living experience will give you the chance to slow down, embrace your inner crofter and appreciate the simple things in life. The spectacular location of your Bothy boasts far-reaching views over the Lynne of Lorne across to the Isle of Mull to the West and the Ardnamurchan hills joining the mountains of Morvern, to frame an idyllic vista to the North. Set in an elevated position, the Bothy overlooks its own magnificent expansive beach where you could find yourself sharing the shoreline with a seal or two.

The Bothy has been completely renovated to provide an authentic living experience. Once home to generations of crofters, the Bothy now lies as a testament to a historic way of life that you can sample for yourself. Thick stout external walls retain heat and provide a cosy nest where you can find pleasure in the simplicity of the internal furnishings and inner peace in the stillness of your surroundings. The property is not connected to mains electricity but a wood-burning stove in the lounge will keep you snug while gas powers the hot water in the kitchen and shower. Your lighting is provided by traditional lanterns and hurricane candles which give a warm and inviting atmosphere to the home. Although the living arrangements are simple, you won’t need to sacrifice any home comforts and you’ll find a comfortable double bed, a rainforest shower in the bathroom and a kitchen that offers all the utensils and cooking equipment you’ll need whether you want to cook indoors or in the open air. To welcome you in you’ll receive a delicious hamper containing a selection of locally sourced produce and treats.

If you want to experience the luxury of bathing with the sights and sounds of nature around you, there’s a wood-fired bath outside where you can lie back and watch the stars come out. Or why not sit by the fire pit with a hot chocolate while the sun goes down and breathe in the clean air and tranquility?

Your cosy Bothy is situated in some of Scotland’s most spectacular countryside and is only 12 miles north of the port town of Oban on the west coast. Take a day trip there and don’t miss the atmospheric Glencoe where you can immerse yourself in the rich history of the area. Or maybe explore the Highlands and islands, taking in the Western Isles including Mull, Iona, Staffa and beyond.
