This cosy bolthole makes the perfect retreat for couples looking for a romantic stay in the stunning Lake District.
Head down the private gravel-covered pathway, surrounded by foliage and flowers, to this quiet den tucked away from the world. Pretty fairy lights illuminate the way on dark evenings and provide atmospheric lighting for sunset drinks in the garden.
Stepping past the green ferns to the wooden front door, guests will love the forest-feel of the Den which continues inside with wooden floor, ceilings and wall panelling.
After days spent hiking the fens and exploring the lakes, fall onto the king size bed and curling up amongst the crisp white bedding. Snuggle up on rainy nights and watch movies from the comfort of bed, courtesy of the wall-mounted flat screen television.
Wash away the day in the large ensuite shower room which has a unique stone sink, luxurious toiletries and fluffy white towels.
Tired walker's legs will love the restorative waters of the outdoor hot tub - it's the ideal way to relax after completing Wainwright's rambles. Sit back under the twinkling fairy lights with a glass of wine and reflect on another unforgettable day in the Lakes.
The Den has a handy fridge to keep drinks cool and snacks fresh and is particularly useful for stashing goodies for the next day's picnic lunch. And to get kick started in the morning, enjoy a fresh coffee in the garden while plotting the day's adventure.
The property doesn't have a full kitchen but guests will find a fabulous range of places to eat out just a short distance from The Den - from Michelin-starred icons to pretty cafes and cosy pubs. Try afternoon tea at next-door Cedar Manor, wonderful dinners at The Jumble Room at Ambleside, or splash out for dinner at Cartmel's famous L'Enclume fine-dining restaurant.
Situated in the heart of Windermere, guests will find plenty to see and do on the doorstep, from sailing or paddleboarding the lake to stunning walks, for all abilities, from the heart of the town.
