Immerse yourself in outdoor living and enjoy a solo trip or a romantic retreat in one of these spacious, luxuriously furnished shepherd’s huts nestled in the serene Crabtree Farm. You will admire the interiors beautifully decorated by Dorothy Wightman with colourful wood panelling and the unique, handpicked kitchenware and lovely decorations which fill the hut.
Unwind with breakfast in bed as you bask in the natural light streaming in through the large window at the foot of the cosy king size bed. There’s also an amazing curved window above the bed offering an excellent opportunity for you to pass evenings under the stars whilst still curled up in bed with your nose in a book or catching up on your favourite television shows on the smart TV.
Kick off your days in the full-size walk-in shower in the stylish ensuite bathroom using the lovely Bath House toiletries before heading to the raised wooden decking area to sip your morning coffee and listen to melodic birdsong. These shepherd’s huts feature excellent living spaces where guests can relax on the cosy L-shape sofa with feet up on the padded footstool in front of the wood-burning stove. Watch a film on the wall-mounted smart TV or unleash your competitive spirit with a board game whilst tunes blaring from the Roberts radio set the mood.
The excellently equipped kitchen, featuring a Belfast sink and a Belling oven, is a fantastic opportunity to rustle up a delicious feast to be enjoyed at the fold-away oak dining table. Otherwise, the outdoor seating area is a wonderful place for an alfresco meal cooked up on the BBQ or to toast marshmallows for pudding at the fire pit. If you are staying in the Sett, head to the private hot tub to warm up after a tiring day hiking the local countryside with a celebratory tipple.
The four huts are similar in design, each having a different colour scheme throughout. The Drey hut features a calming pastel green colour scheme, with a bright and bold pink kitchen. The Holt also has a light green colour scheme throughout, with a pretty pale pastel blue kitchen. The Burrow has lovely mustard yellow walls, with purple kitchen units that nicely match the deep purple corner sofa. And last but not least, the Sett has beautiful dark blue and green walls and a light wood kitchen that sits opposite a pretty blue corner sofa.
Walking trails with spectacular vistas are on your doorstep – perhaps you will drive to the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales to admire the magnificent landscapes. Hike to Farleton Knott and Dalton Crag, the nearest fells, for a tranquil experience in nature. Crabtree Farm itself is an excellent place for birdwatching – look out for barn owls and green woodpeckers on your walks! Head to the Plough for a refreshing pint or visit nearby Kirkby Lonsdale to peruse the independent high street shops of this market town. The National Trust’s Sizergh Castle and the Lakeland Maze Farm Park also make for delightful afternoon trips.
