Indulge in dreamy, star-lit nights and steamy, open-air hot tubs at this romantic off-grid cabin in rural Herefordshire. Tucked away on a tranquil, country lane near the small hamlet of Ledicot, The Corner House is a sweet, couples’ hideaway enveloped by rich, country landscapes. Explore the beautiful, curving hills with their rugged, farming pastures, or the verdant River Wye with its flourishing, open valleys. Stop off in quaint, market towns and discover the urban foodie culture, or don your travellers backpack and head out for adventure.
The octagonal Corner House is a luxury, glamping retreat set amongst seven secluded acres of wild, country scenes. Handcrafted from locally-sourced wood and with a retro-chic style, it is a peaceful sanctuary for some much-needed alone time. Relax on the alfresco, cabin deck with its sunken, wood-fired hot tub, sipping champagne till late as you swoon over the sensational, crimson sunset. Watch out for the magnificent swooping buzzards or listen for the hooting of the owls, snuggling up beside the firepit beneath the moonlit boughs.
Step beyond the doors, to uncover your cosy, wooden snug, that blends the romance of glamping with modern home comforts. Expect warm, wooden floorboards and soothing colours, alongside contemporary furniture and vintage touches.
The open-plan living area oozes with a cool, natural vibe, and has a slick leather sofa and trendy, kitsch designs. Solar-powered lights provide an ambient glow and are accompanied by USB charging points for those all-important phones. A roaring log burner is on-hand for those cold winter days, along with plenty of books and games to keep you entertained. With no TV or WIFI, you can switch off from the outside world, experiencing a near digital detox and a modern take on ’Do Not Disturb’.
A well-equipped kitchenette overlooks the designer lounge and is complete with a five-burner gas hob and a gas-powered cool box. Treat yourself to a welcome hamper and sample some delicious, local treats, cooking lazy afternoon brunches and romantic, evening meals.
Head through to the bedroom to find your sumptuous lovers’ hideout, furnished with an alluring, sink-in bed and uber-soft fur blankets. Matching dressing gowns make this your home away from home, while the stunning skylight captures a stargazing show. A deluxe, indoor shower room completes the accommodation, and is joined by an outdoor bathroom hut with a private composting toilet.
When you want to explore, there is plenty to see and do, walking along the majestic Wye Valley or up the iconic Malvern Hills. Picnic beside picture-perfect lakes or swim in the crystal-clear rivers, visiting stately Hampton Court with its manicured gardens. The adventurers amongst you will love the exhilarating outdoor activities, including gorge walking, horse riding and kayaking on the rapids. For the foodies out there, there are some amazing pubs for food within a few miles of here (The Riverside Inn in Aymestrey, The Oak at Wigmore, The Lion at Leintwardine), and some excellent restaurants in Ludlow. Leominster is also renowned for it's antique shops.
