This former American Community Bus has been gutted of its original interiors in favour a stylish baby blue exterior and recycled furnishings which guarantee comfort and pleasure during your peaceful stay. The woodwork of local larch and sycamore trees, as well as features such as the reclaimed nickel sink and taps, create this unique bus which has been made into a luxury hideaway through hard work and salvaged materials.
You will easily thaw any chilliness on frosty, wintry evenings due to the Thermafleece wool and closed cell foam which insulates the entire vehicle. The Norwegian Jotul 601 wood stove (logs are provided) and ESSE wood burning Aga ensure that you will stay toasty despite any harsh weather conditions in your cosy sanctuary – perhaps passing the time playing a board game or mapping out a hiking route for tomorrow.
Curl up in a sumptuous bed of duck feather cushions, pillows and duvets and sink into the Emma memory foam mattress – an ideal setting for an evening with a book or a lie in with breakfast in bed whilst natural light floods in through the windows. Perhaps you will then kick off your day with a dip in the wood-fired hot tub before embarking on an adventure.
Exquisite attention to detail is in abundance in this bus where the marble clad thermostatic shower, Bathhouse soaps and Egyptian cotton towels create a luxury bathroom experience despite the rural environment.
In the mood for outdoor dining? Gather around the fire pit and mini BBQ whilst marvelling at a glorious sunset with a delectable alfresco dinner on the Hay table and chairs. Otherwise, be inspired by a cookbook and rustle up a feast to serve on Cornishware plates, having taken advantage of the Japanese knives and Hay pans. You might even opt to pre-order a hamper box of local produce to easily facilitate morning fry-ups and afternoon BBQs.
The stunning mountains, lakes and forests throughout the Lake District National Park make this the perfect getaway from urban sprawl and modern life. You will certainly find tranquillity on long walks with picturesque views. Wild swimming (perhaps in Crummock Water) or mountain biking are wonderful opportunities for adrenaline-seekers to engage with the rustic local area. Stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking are also on offer at Crummock Water for fun days splashing around the lake and admiring the serene vistas.
Nearby Cockermouth is a short drive away for an afternoon browsing independent shops and grabbing a refreshing pint at a charming pub.
