This contemporary barn conversion, set on a working farm near Stratford-upon-Avon, is a cosy countryside escape for couples. The building has been beautifully transformed, retaining much of its character with exposed beams reaching up to the high vaulted ceilings and brickwork left on show. The bright and airy living space can be extended outdoors by opening up the huge bi-fold doors out onto the private courtyard. After long walks in the Cotswolds or a busy day exploring Shakespeare’s birthplace, sit out in the courtyard with a glass of something as dinner sizzles away on the BBQ and you soak up the scenery.
The barn’s open plan layout makes the most of the lovely high ceilings and retains the sense of spaciousness. You’ll find the main room has been divided up into areas for sleeping, dining and relaxing. The lounge area is set in front of the bi-fold doors that stretch the entire width of the space. Put your feet up on the comfy L-shaped sofa and enjoy the view out onto the courtyard. On warmer days, you can open the doors up completely, letting in plenty of that fresh countryside air. There’s also a firepit with a grill so you can cook outdoors and stay out late into the evening, keeping warm and cosy as you do a bit of stargazing.
The kitchen is just off the main room and is fully equipped with everything you’ll need to rustle up anything from quick breakfasts to your favourite dinners. There’s a dishwasher, coffee machine, induction hob and you’ll also find a pantry well-stocked with all the basics. Next to the kitchen is the stylish wet room with an enormous rainfall shower, a welcome treat after a long walk in the countryside.
The barn has been expertly converted with an eco-conscious mindset. You’ll find solar panels, ground source heating and excellent insulation creating an energy efficient space. There’s also an EV charging point if you need one.
The barn is located in the Worcestershire countryside with plenty to explore right on the doorstep. There are plenty of footpaths to follow straight from the farm or after a short drive, including the walk up to Broadway Tower which will reward you with some stunning views. Batsford Arboretum and the Cotswold Lavender Farm will help you get your outdoor fix while Stratford-upon-Avon is just 15 minutes away for a bit of culture. In the other direction, head into the Cotswolds and spend slow afternoons wandering through the pretty streets of towns and villages like Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden.
