Scots Pine is a glorious wooden cabin-styled house nestled in a leafy copse with a spacious elegant interior and a fantastic garden with a deck for alfresco dining and hot tub soaking. With excellent accessibility it would be perfect for a multi-generational family of up to 10, or a group of friends seeking a luxurious getaway in the countryside.
The downstairs kitchen, dining and living room area is large, airy and spacious. Perfect for gathering together to enjoy a welcome drink. The kitchen has plenty of room to prepare meals which you can share at the impressive 14-seater oak dining table. Not only are there three ovens and all the appliances and crockery you could need, but the hosts have also provided two dishwashers to make life extra simple.
The lounge area is cosy with a comfy sofa and two high-backed armchairs close to the corner wood-burner which will keep everyone toasty and happy during a night of films on the flatscreen TV or board games. And if it's chilly there is underfloor heating throughout.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, beautifully decorated in a modern and cosy style, both with wet rooms making them ideal for any guests with mobility issues. Three further bedrooms are up on the first floor, equally comfortable with a mix of king size beds, which can be made into twins if required. All of the rooms on both floors are notably large with plenty of room to relax, wander on to your shared balcony, write letters at the table, watch a film on your private TV, hang your clothes in the big wardrobes and generally feel like you're in a hotel. And they all come with ensuite facilities, large walk-in showers and one deep tub if one of you fancy a long soak. The beds are decked out in high quality linens and uniform blackout blinds promise a peaceful night's sleep for everyone.
There's a second lounge on the first floor, equally pleasant with lots of comfortable seating and another TV which would be a great spot for teens to take over and hang out or for children to watch some cartoons whilst the grown ups enjoy a thriller downstairs! All of the communal spaces have nice art on the walls and thoughtful touches everywhere that will make you feel at home and at ease.
After a good night and a refreshing shower head to the kitchen and make use of the Nespresso machine. The hosts have even provided an Aeroccino if you like a frothy cappuccino to get your day started. Rustle up some breakfast and if the weather is good slide open the large glass patio doors and let the sunshine in. The doors lead out to the impressive decking where you'll find a lovely teak dining table to one side and soft cushioned rattan furniture on the other so you can enjoy a BBQ or cook to dine alfresco, then settle into the sofas with a post-dinner drink and chat the night away. A few steps down is the lawned garden which any dog friends you bring will love, and this area is also home to the hot tub which can be enjoyed at any time with a glass of fizz!
Should you fancy a daily swim the hosts have provided an indoor heated pool with sauna and steam facilities that several of their holiday properties can enjoy. All you have to do is book your daily slot of 45 minutes and head over to Wallops Wood a mile away.
You'll be well placed to visit various lovely Hampshire towns within a 30-minute radius including Winchester which offers fine dining at the Ivy Brasserie and excellent burgers at The Dispensary Kitchen. Alresford is also nearby and is a gorgeous old market town famous for its Michelin recommended tapas restaurant Pulpo Negro – book in advance! And if you fancy a day of shopping Southampton has everything you'll need, and you can head to Portsmouth or Bournemouth if the beach is beckoning. Or simply pre-order a welcome meal to be delivered to the door by your hosts and get a supermarket delivery for all the other goodies you want.
