Enjoy a truly luxurious stay in a Grand Design, tucked away in the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This idyllic home makes use of large open spaces, huge windows and a beautiful garden with its own wild pond for swimming. Guests can spend time on the tennis court before enjoying a sauna. Or head out and explore the surrounding woodland trails before going for a dip in the wood-fired hot tub.
This marvellous home, which was featured on Channel Four’s hit show Grand Designs, sleeps up to 10 guests and sits on one-and-a-half acres of land. As you would expect from a Grand Design, The Water Shed is an epic display of architectural wonder. Guests will love the triple-height atrium with its three-storey chimney, double-sweeping staircase and floating balconies that poke out over the dining space.
Chill with your loved ones on the comfy sofas that overlook the swimming pond, sweeping the huge glass doors open to let the outside in. Or gather in the lounge on the huge sofas and light the fireplace for an evening socialising over bottles of wine. After a busy day at the harbour you might just want to chill with a good movie, making use of one of the four smart TVs that feature Netflix or Amazon Prime, powered by Zen superfast broadband.
When the sun is shining you can relax on the sun loungers with a good book whilst soaking up some rays. Or, go for a dip in the swimming pond to cool off. Come the evening hop in the hot tub for a relaxing break as you gaze up at the stars above.
Back inside, the modern, spacious kitchen has all you need to whip up delicious feasts. Your fellow guests can keep you company up the kitchen island, which is also a nice spot for your morning coffee or casual breakfast. The grand dining table is ideal for more formal, celebratory meals and in summer you can dine alfresco in the pretty garden. The garden also has a number of cute seating areas, should you wish to socialise in the sunshine.
When bedtime beckons, The Water Shed has five beautiful bedrooms on offer. All of the beds are incredibly comfortable and make use of extra soft muslin linen, toppers and microfibre duvets. Add to this the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings and you and your loved ones are guaranteed a fab night’s sleep.
The master bedroom sits on the first floor with a king size bed. This space also has its own ensuite bathroom and a balcony with lovely views. The second bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower, and the third has twin beds that can be pulled together to make a double and an ensuite bathroom. The fourth room is ideal for kids, with a triple bunk beds and an ensuite shower room, whilst the fifth bedroom, tucked away in the loft, has a double bed as well as a pull-out sofa bed and an ensuite toilet.
You and your group will be forgiven for never wanting to leave this incredible home, however, those who do venture out will be delighted with the surrounding area. Take a stroll around the coves and creeks of Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or head slightly further afield and explore the beautiful South Downs National Park.
If you wanted to head out for dinner you could try The Giggling Squid for some Thai food or Bill's Chichester Restaurant, which offers delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. You could even enjoy some Asian fusion at Lime Squeezy in Chichester and, if it's a special occasion, why not indulge in some Michelin dining at Interlude in Horsham?

Leave a reviewWe had the most glorious stay at the Water Shed this Summer, with our family. We loved the entire experience, but the standouts for us were the natural swimming pool (of course), which was so refreshing and special to have access to right off of the main living space, the tennis court, and the playground for our children. We had a multi-generational stay, with toddlers, teenagers, grandparents and parents and everyone enjoyed it and had space to do their own thing when they wanted to. The swinging chair and view back towards the home is a marvel that needs to be experienced. The sauna and hot tub were so nice to have, and we used the hot tub daily, which was a nice contrast to the refreshing cool of the swimming pool. The interiors are as special as the exterior, and we really loved that one bedroom was fully kitted out with a playhouse, toys, and children's books. Our young ones just adored this area. We also spent a lot of time in the snug after meals, so my in-laws could catch the news, or the kids could snuggle up and watch a film. The outdoor fire and dining area was my favourite place to eat, but we had so many options we ate in a different area for every dinner. We were gifted the most incredible bread, chocolate and jam upon arrival, as well as a bottle of prosecco which was a really lovely touch. We highly recommend the property and would stay again. Thank you so very much Nina and Dan for sharing your special space with us. Courtney & Olly
