Macdonald's Farm Glamping is a lovely family run site located at the top of a valley surrounded by hedgerows and enclaves. The Safari Lodge Tents sleep up to five and provide a wonderful glamping beneath the stars experience for families who love seaside holidays in nature.
These brand new lodges are bright and airy with plenty of room for a family with young ones and have been made extra cosy with rugs, warm throws and comfy beds decked out with luxury bedding.
Each one has a plush king size bed, a double bed and a fun top single bunk for kids. They have been cleverly designed to allow you to section off the sleeping areas to best suit your requirements and ensure privacy and a great night's sleep.
There's an interior seating and dining area where you can relax by the wood burner and settle the kids before bed time, and if you fancy cooking your own dinner there's a fire pit outside with a cooking grill where you can rustle up some burgers or toast marshmallows beneath the stars.
Each safari tent comes with a kettle and tea and coffee station for that all important first cup or herbal infusion before bed, and there's a mini fridge and water carrier to make things extra easy.
In the summer you'll spend much of your downtime out on the lovely veranda lounging on the deck chairs or chilling by the fire pit, but the site has lots of activities for kids including a play area, an opportunity to meet the animals and even a ride on a pony!
For the adults you'll have the luxury of the fabulous on-site restaurant, the Fire & Stone, which is Macdonald's Farm's new Smokehouse and Pizza Shed. You can grab a perfect coffee from the barista, enjoy some breakfast with fantastic views or settle down for a drink at the bar and a wonderful supper beneath the festoon lighting.
After a night of fine dining, fire pits and deep sleep, head over the the brand new VIP shower facilities and freshen up for a day of fun. There's an on-site shop where you can buy some food to cook on the BBQ or at the VIP cooking area with a view of the paddock where you'll meet other campers. Or maybe pack up a picnic and take the scenic 10-minute stroll down to Porthcothan Beach, a beautiful sandy cove backed by grassy dunes where the kids can build castles and you can enjoy some swimming or body boarding. There's also a regular bus down the hill and back which only takes five minutes if you have a lot to carry.
Explore the coastal paths, visit the nearby pubs and beaches, soak up the sun on the beach, then head back to your luxury Safari home, light up the fire pit and enjoy a cold beer before dinner with a view at the Fire & Stone.
