Offering a range of five luxurious safari tents – as well as a cosy barn – Canvas & Campfires gives you the camping experience with a little extra glamour. Located on a hillside smallholding near Lampeter, West Wales, this special site is perfect for couples’ getaways, family holidays or chilled out solo adventuring.
If you haven’t come across a safari tent before, you could be surprised at the level of comfort on offer at Canvas & Campfires. Each tent can sleep up to six guests, and has plenty of room to relax, with a living space kitted out with a leather sofa and a wood-burning range cooker. There’s a hand-crafted kitchen, as well as a lovely dining table with bench seating.
You’re welcome to set up a campfire on site, and there’s an honesty shop on hand, selling marshmallows to toast on it. There is also a picnic table for outdoor dining, and each tent has its own covered deck area from which you can make the most of the beautiful countryside views.
You’ll have a cosy time when it comes to sleeping, with the beds equipped with luxurious wool duvets, plentiful blankets and hot water bottles. Seren, Afon and Aderyn all have super, comfy king sized beds, twins and a cabin bed, along with flushing loos and a sink inside the tent. Enfys and Dyffryn come with a super king sized bed (which can be split into a twin if needed), along with bunk beds and a cabin bed. These two also have attached level access to the wetrooms.
The farm’s former cowshed provides an alternative to the tents, and has its own private hot tub right outside. Perfect for a romantic break, the accommodation can fit in a third guest if required, with an additional futon bed on a snug mezzanine level. Also incorporating a spacious shower, an open-plan living area, kitchen and dining space, and a barbecue, the barn has everything you could want.
With Lampeter just a 5-minute drive away, and coastal Aberaeron around 15 minutes away, there is a lot to enjoy surrounding Canvas & Campfires. Three Welsh National Parks are in the vicinity, so there is no shortage of stunning countryside, and a string of gorgeous Blue Flag beaches are within 30 minutes too – look out for Llangrannog, Penbryn, Tresaith and Aberporth along the Ceredigion Coastal Path.

Leave a reviewA perfect Easter weekend. Booked last minute with my partner and 3 young children. Never done glamping before and we fell in love. Not only was booking simple and communication faultless the site was perfectly situated. The safari tents were clean and well stocked! The animal experience and getting to feed the pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks just added to the trip! We brought local produce from the honesty shop and collected freshly laid chicken eggs for our breakfast. I felt so relaxed and calm letting my children run free as the site was so safe! There was very poor signal and no TV which made the trip even more perfect to escape the world and just be in the moment with the children. Could not recommend enough and can’t wait to return with friends and family.

Communication was great, right from when I started enquiring about my stay. Very welcoming people, I enjoyed my stay initially booked 2 nights for my solo trip but decided to extend to 4 nights as the environment was very peaceful and relaxing. Will definitely bring my family along next time. Highly recommend!
