Situated on a beautiful farm in rural Devon, Roxie House is a superb romantic retreat that offers you and your loved one the perfect place to relax and unwind together in style. A former coach house, this cosy and quaint retreat has been lovingly converted into a peaceful and calming retreat, with an abundance of rustic charm.
The heart of the home is the beautiful kitchen and dining space, which is bright and airy thanks to whitewashed walls and has a lovely wooden floor and exposed beam, which add character. There’s a cosy wood-burner in the corner ensuring you stay toasty and warm whatever the weather outside. The kitchen features an electric oven and a microwave, so you have plenty of options when it comes to preparing meals.
Dine together on the cosy farmhouse-style dining table for two before heading to the lounge to get comfy on the sofa with a glass of wine. The lounge itself has a TV with freeview, and there are also a selection of books and games to keep you entertained.
Before bed, head to the pretty bathroom, where a free-standing bathtub offers you the chance to indulge in a relaxing soak after a day out exploring the marvellous Devon countryside. There’s also a shower over the bath for quick morning soaks. After your bath, head to the master bedroom, where you’ll find a comfy double bed offers a peaceful night’s sleep. There’s also a fold-out sofa bed in the lounge, which can sleep an extra guest, whilst a travel cot is also available if needed.
Outside, a cosy courtyard has some alfresco seating and a firepit. Sit out here in the evening as the sun sets, toasting marshmallows over the flames with a delicious drink in hand.
Roxie House sits on an amazing old farm, which dates back 1,000 years with many original features still being seen throughout the farm. During your stay you are welcome to meet the animals and the owners can even show you how to feed the goats and sheep. Or, you can venture further afield and explore all that this delightful part of Devon has to offer.
Explore the scenic East Devon Way for stunning walks through rolling hills and woodlands and visit Escot Park for wildlife encounters and adventure trails. Enjoy a traditional cream tea in one of the quaint village cafés and discover the historic Cadhay Manor or marvel at the nearby Jurassic Coast’s dramatic cliffs. You can also visit an abundance of local markets and cider farms.
