Situated in a tranquil slice of the Blackdown Hills in rural Devon, Croft Cabin offers groups of up to four guests a truly wonderful stay that offers peace in abundance. This charming eco-cabin is simple and pared-back in its design with a beautiful wooden interior that connects you to the marvellous hills and forests outside.
Gather with your loved ones in the grand open-plan living space, which features a cosy lounge area at one end. Here you’ll find supremely comfy seating, with a big squishy sofa and a lovely armchair sitting around a wood-burning fireplace. Throw some logs on the fire and keep your feet toasty and warm whatever the weather outside.
The living space is also where you’ll find the stylish kitchen, which is nicely equipped with all the appliances and amenities you’ll need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. And just off the kitchen is the rustic dining table that offers a delightful setting for fun feasts together.
Stepping outside, your cabin has a fabulous garden that offers lovely views out over the rolling hills. There’s a spacious deck here, with an outdoor dining table where you can enjoy an alfresco lunch in the fresh country air. You’ve also got a firepit out here, meaning you can get the flames going and enjoy an evening toasting marshmallows as the stars come out above. Winding footpaths also take you to an orchard and down to the gently meandering River Bolham, perfect for paddling, picnics and fishing. Children can roam freely, enjoying a rope swing, trampoline and a football goal to keep them entertained.
Back inside, the cabin has two charming bedrooms, one of which features a double bed the other a double and an additional single bunk bed for a child. The first bedroom features a double that sits next to huge windows, which offers a delightful place to enjoy your first coffee of the day whilst gazing out at the surrounding scenery.
If you wish to venture out and explore the local area, there’s lots to see and do. Take on the cycling, running, and walking routes in the Blackdown Hills, with highlights like Culmstock Beacon and Culmstock River for paddling. Visit Wellington or Honiton for picnic supplies and breakfast at Brazier Coffee Roasters. Enjoy swimming or paddleboarding at Branscombe Beach, just 35 minutes away and pizza at The Folly at The Pig. Cycle the Grand Western Canal or stroll pebble beaches like Budleigh Salterton. Don’t miss Knightshayes (National Trust) or spotting wild ponies in Exmoor and Dartmoor.
