Hidden away in a peaceful wildflower meadow in the beautiful countryside of North Devon, Raleigh Lodge offers a relaxing getaway for nature lovers looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Wake up to the sounds of the birds in the trees and watch the wildlife in the meadow as you have breakfast out on the veranda. Spend the day exploring the coast and countryside of North Devon, with its stunning beaches and rolling hills, before returning to your cosy hideaway to watch the sunset and do a bit of stargazing.
Inside, the lodge feels warm and welcoming with its timber walls, wooden beams overhead and the log burner creating a cosy atmosphere. The living area is open plan with a well-equipped kitchen at one end and a comfy lounge at the other. The large windows let in plenty of natural light and overlook the meadow, so you can relax on the sofa while enjoying the view. As the evening draws in, get a fire going in the log burner and curl up with a good book or enjoy a movie on the TV. You'll find everything you need in the kitchen to rustle up delicious meals, from pots and pans to utensils and appliances. There's also a dishwasher to take care of the cleaning up.
Move through to the bedroom where you'll find a luxurious king size bed all made up with soft, crisp bedding and set in front of a set of French doors. You'll be able to relax in bed with a cup of tea in the morning and enjoy the views of the meadow. There's an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a heated rail to keep your towels warm and fluffy.
Step out onto the veranda via the French doors in the living room or the bedroom and enjoy a glass of something while you soak up the view. It's sheltered by the roof of the lodge, so you'll be able to enjoy the scenery whatever the weather. Head out to explore the surrounding meadows and woodland in the five acres of private land that surrounds the lodge and there's also a picnic area which is the perfect spot to have lunch on a sunny afternoon.
If you fancy doing a bit of exploring, there's plenty to do in the area with miles of rolling countryside on your doorstep and stunning beaches just a short drive away. The sweeping sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Widemouth and Bude are nearby, perfect for a day by the sea. Head off along the South West Coastal Path and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the rugged coastline while stumbling across charming seaside villages. If you fancy a bit of culture, visit the stunning Hartland Abbey, explore Arlington Court or stroll through the gardens at Rosemoor.
