The Houses at Osea Island are a truly unique setting for a celebration or gathering. The accommodation available consists of the Captain's House and the Manor House.
Sitting right on the water’s edge with magnificent views along the beach and across the estuary, The Captain’s House has been built in a cool beach house style that’s more reminiscent of the USA or the Caribbean than the UK.
The house is mainly on one level, spread out laterally across extensive gardens and grounds with private stairs leading down to the beach. The first floor master bedroom suite has incredible views.
In the large living room you’ll find a wood-burning stove and triple French doors leading on to a terrace with sea views. An additional large library / living room also comes with a wood-burning stove and triple French doors leading out to a covered patio and sundeck.
The dining room seats over 20 people, and the kitchen provides plenty of space to cook with an additional dining area and adjoining scullery with a butler sink leading to the back door. A separate utility room comes equipped with a washing machine and dryer. Although the island is mainly self-catering, chefs can be hired at any time of the year to cook for you via prior arrangement.
The house has seven comfortable double bedrooms, four with four-poster beds and an additional two bedrooms, which can be converted into doubles if needed. Seven bathrooms with roll-top baths and showers work well with large groups, and four of these are en suite.
Step outside and you’ll find a heated outdoor swimming pool, that’s open from April to the first week of October. Outdoor games equipment, including table tennis and table football are provided. Bicycles and fishing equipment are also available during your stay.
The Manor House is a grand Edwardian seaside residence with panoramic views along the beach and over its original salt water pool built in 1903. The interior has been lovingly restored incorporating style with modern comforts.
Set over three floors and it also has extensive grounds, walled garden and private salt water pool. There are ten double bedrooms (seven with four poster beds), six bathrooms with roll top baths and showers (four ensuite), two additional cloakrooms, a large living room with open fire, and a large library with full size billiard table and open fire. This room can be converted to dining table for 20 guests. There is an additional large living room on second floor with spectacular sea views.
The Manor House boasts a large country style kitchen with dining table and additional adjoining caterers kitchen and further scullery with Butlers sink and bootroom leading to back door.
There is plenty to entertain you with eight TV’s / DVD and Sky. There are also two additional small breakfast rooms on 1st and 2nd floor.
Whether you choose to do little more than bury your head in a good book, take a lazy walk on the beach or paddle around the perimeter, Osea Island's sea air will refresh you. There are any number of activities you can enjoy during your stay; from boating and kayaking, to cycling, fishing or foraging and beach-combing.
