In the beautiful Lake District is the contemporary Penthouse-style flat, Midland Bank Chambers. Giving off a very different vibe to the usual traditional properties in this area, the modern holiday home is Scandi inspired in its stylish design and decoration.
Sleeping up to four guests, those staying enter through the front door of the grand old bank building where it is situated. The open plan living area is the social heart of the apartment, separated from the rest by a sliding door, and has pretty blue and yellow accents that add a splash of colour. In this bright and airy space is a seating area with a comfy sofa and armchair, and the room flows towards the fully equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, coffee maker. These are divided by a breakfast bar unit with high stools, while there is also a separate glass dining table and chairs seating up to four people.
Elsewhere in Midland Bank Chambers there are two bedrooms with queen-size beds, both with wall-mounted flat screen TVs. One room also has a free standing bath tub for that added touch of luxury. There is also a family bathroom serving the flat with a walk-in rainforest shower.
The property is located in the market town of Ambleside, which has an array of restaurants, pubs, and independent shops right on the doorstep. In the summer months, tourists can take a horse drawn carriage on the one-mile journey to Waterhead Pier, which dates back to 1845. Here is the lake ferry terminal for Windermere - the UK’s largest lake. Take a cruise over to Brockhole, which is the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre and is set in 30 acres of gardens and has an array of activities on offer.
There are also many bus routes into the famous National Park, although the town itself is considered a great base for exploring the Lake District and the many walking and cycling routes that it has to offer. Just a short walk from Ambleside centre is the 70-foot waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Other nearby gems include the National Trust-owned Stagshaw Gardens, the historic remains of Galava Roman Fort, and Hayes Garden World.
