In a beautifully secluded part of the Loire Valley, surrounded by countryside dotted with wineries, this 17th-century Manor House offers the perfect retreat within striking distance to some of the gems of this wonderful region.
Exposed beams, original stone walls and rustic fireplaces speak of the manoir’s history, while modern amenities and furnishings offer guests comfort and warmth. Four spacious bedrooms in the Manor House accommodate up to eight guests, while the adjoining, newly renovated cottage, ideal for a family with children, sleeps an additional six across three bedrooms, both with the option of adding an extra bed for a supplement. For larger parties, a gite can be requested for an additional three guests, allowing up to 19 guests to stay over the three homes.
Perfect for a pampering holiday or perhaps a unique hen party, the owners can arrange for an in-house masseur to make the most of the massage table in one of the beautifully designed bathrooms for a moment of pure relaxation accompanied by music.
Fantastically secluded with glorious grounds and a heated salt-water swimming pool, spend the days relaxing in the outdoor lounge followed by an evening dining al-fresco by the barbecue and playing your favourite tunes on the duke box, sipping wine from the neighbouring vineyards – you may never want to leave!
Despite this private setting, just a few minutes by car brings you to the local historic town of Doué la Fontaine, well known for being the rose capital of Europe. Just outside you will also find the Bioparc, an animal park in a troglodyte site which provides an immersive experience amidst lush vegetation and waterfalls.
It’s just under a 30-minute drive to the vibrant town of Saumur, resting on the Loire River, with its excellent shops and restaurants, the famous equestrian school Cadre Noir and the delicious sparkling white wine which you can sample in the area. Visit the fairy-tale château, take a boat up the Loire river or hire canoes.
That said, you needn’t travel far to experience the true character of the Loire Valley with Manoir De Levesque’s historical architecture and 17th century charm.
