This Victorian, former gatekeeper's cottage, blends effortlessly into the landscape with its slate roof and flagstone windowsills. Cute and cosy on the outside with a minimalist-inspired, modern interior, Gate Lodge offers luxury with historical charm.
The open plan living area has a stylish kitchen space where couples can create unforgettable dinners using fabulous local produce which includes the freshest seafood and organic locally-reared meat. A small dining table-for-two is ready for the candles to be lit and wine to be poured. Guests will love romantic meals in this elegant space where they can enjoy the wonderful views.
After dinner, retire to the lounge area to enjoy the stunning views via the floor-to-ceiling windows which pull back to give access to the outdoor space. The spectacular, stone-floored, terrace boasts more incredible views of the crashing Atlantic.
Guests can cook dinner alfresco over the BBQ or use the outdoor portable pizza oven before taking a soak in the seaweed bath and cooling off under the invigorating bucket shower. Enjoy drinks at sunset and candle lit evenings watching the stars.
Should the rain blow in from the ocean, settle by one of the two wood-burning fireplaces (one is indoor and one is outdoor). Light the fire and snuggle into the oversized Chesterfield-style sofa and enjoy the dramatic meteorological show.
When bedtime calls, the peaceful bedroom offers everything required for a great night's sleep, from the comfy mattress to the high-quality linens and calming decor. In the morning, freshen up in the gorgeous rainfall shower before planning the day over coffee on the terrace.
Guests will love spending days exploring the coastal path, taking wild dips in the surf and strolling the white sands. At the end of a day exploring, head to The Armada Hotel for dinner or Friel’s Pub (aka Lynch's) in Miltown Malbay for a pint accompanied by live traditional Irish music.
