The Haystore, one of three cottages at The Green Cumbria, is a rustic, yet luxurious, stone barn conversion at the foot of the fells in Cumbria’s Eden Valley. Designed with comfort in mind and impeccably styled it has an open plan first floor lounge, cosy snug/mezzanine, log burning stove, stunning design features and underfloor heating making this a fantastic rural retreat for four.
The star of the show at the Haystore is undoubtedly its design, with features such as high vaulted ceilings, a tall slate fireplace and furnishings inspired by nature’s colours and textures. The barn is designed over two floors, plus a mezzanine in an upside-down layout. On the ground floor you’ll find two en suite bedrooms while the first floor is an open plan space with living room, a well-equipped kitchen, lovely dining area and outside terrace with furniture.
The two bedrooms are stylishly decorated with exposed stonework, warm but neutral colours, designer lighting and sumptuous cushions and bedding. Both bedrooms are en suite with whirlpool baths and overhead showers, WC, hand basin and luxurious toiletries from Bath House.
The main living area on the first floor is a welcoming space to unwind, with comfy leather sofa and easy chairs carefully placed to enjoy the views from the large French doors or the warmth from the log burning stove. For entertainment you’ll find a 55” Smart TV, WiFi, Amazon Alexa with Spotify subscription included, games, maps and books. The fully equipped kitchen comes with added extras like a slow cooker and a food processor, as well as stocks of tea, coffee and milk. This is a fantastic space in which to prepare hearty meals and lavish breakfasts during your stay, which can be enjoyed in the stylish dining area or outside in the summer sunshine.
The cozy mezzanine area has additional seating, blankets, books, low lighting and Bluetooth speaker and makes the perfect place to slip away and relax with a book and some good music.
The French doors lead out onto a private elevated rear terrace with an outdoor table and chairs where you can sit and admire the views of the surrounding countryside. Guests can also use the shared garden areas which have fine views in all directions, seating and brick BBQ.
Other features and facilities include a fantastic App with lots of pre-arrival information, underfloor heating, bike storage, bath robes, stargazing kits and utility areas.
Dogs are very welcome and are provided welcome treats, basket, bucket, sponge, shampoo, towel, outside tap and dog waste bin.
The Haystore is situated within the Eden Valley just outside the beautiful Cumbrian village of Ravenstonedale at the foot of the wonderful Howgill Fells.
