Tucked away on a working farm in the North Norfolk countryside, this luxurious safari tent is a cosy getaway for up to six people. Just six miles from the coast and set in a beautiful meadow, this is the perfect spot to slow down the pace and reconnect with nature. Enjoy breakfast out on the terrace while soaking up the stunning countryside views before heading out to explore the Stiffkey Valley or for a day at the beach. As the sun sets, relax in the gorgeous freestanding bath in the open-air bathroom before gathering around the firepit to toast marshmallows late into the evening. Finally, retreat to your luxurious king size bed which promises a great night’s sleep.
This spacious safari tent features an open plan living space with areas for dining, cooking and relaxing. Two large sofas invite you to put your feet up with a woodburner nearby to keep you cosy on chilly evenings. Next to this, the dining table is perfectly positioned to enjoy the view through the front of the tent. You can open up as much or as little of the front and sides of the tent as you want, depending on the weather outside and embrace outdoor living while still being protected from the elements.
Move through the tent, past the well-equipped kitchen, to find the sleeping area. There are two spaces, sectioned off from each other for a bit of privacy. You’ll find a king size bed in both and one of them features a double cabin bed tucked away in a nook, perfect for children. The bathroom is at the back of the tent and you can open up the whole of this side to create an open-air space that’s still sheltered by the roof. This means you can relax in the freestanding bath while soaking up the sounds of nature around you and enjoying the fresh air. There’s also an outdoor shower with hot water for a refreshing start to the day.
To the front of the tent, you’ll find a terrace with comfy outdoor furniture where you can take in the scenery, surrounded by the meadow’s wild grasses and flowers. This is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of something as you watch the sunset over the fields. There’s also a firepit area that can be used to do a bit of outdoor cooking or just to keep you warm and cosy late into the evening as you stargaze in the beautiful dark skies.
The farm is located in the village of Great Walsingham which has its own fascinating history. The Anglian Shrine has attracted pilgrims since the 11th century and there are stunning Abbey ruins and medieval streets to explore. Venture a little further into the countryside of North Norfolk and you’ll find yourself at the coast in no time. Just a few miles from the tent, this beautiful stretch of coastline is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with sweeping sandy beaches and marshes interspersed with market towns and stately homes. Take a boat trip from Morston for a chance to see the seals out at Blakeney Point or explore the 18th century Holkham Hall. For a day out by the sea, head to Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham or Blakeney, or tackle some of the 83 miles of the well-signposted coast path.
