Set in the countryside, just 15 minutes from York, the Currantberry Barns site is a great option for large family groups or trips with friends. There are several pods and a cabin offering each family or couple their own space while sharing luxurious facilities in the main barn. Here, you’ll be able to cook up delicious feasts together, relax with a glass of something while enjoying the view or you can book a treatment with one of the in-house therapists.
There are three pods, each sleeping up to four guests and a glamping cabin that can sleep up to six using the sofa bed. The pods are cosy and simply furnished, with a double bed and two singles in each. Two of the pods feature a sink and a toilet while you’ll find the four bathrooms in the main barn. The glamping cabin has a little more space and features a double bed, two singles and a sofa which can be set up as another double bed.
The stunning main barn has been set up for socialising with big open plan spaces, plenty of comfy sofas, a large dining table and three ovens in the kitchen. The huge, full-height windows at the front of the barn let in plenty of light and open onto a reception area with an impressive staircase leading up to the first floor. This is where you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen with a large island, so your kitchen helpers can pull up a bar stool and help with the food prep. There’s an enormous dining table with plenty of room to accommodate everyone and the living space is set up in front of a large window, so you can sit back and enjoy the view.
The Currantberry Barns site is just seven miles east of the city of York, offering the best of both worlds. You can enjoy the peaceful rural surroundings but be in a bustling city in just 15 minutes. The closest village is the picturesque Wilberfoss and the Yorkshire Wolds and East Coast are nearby with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Lace up your walking boots for a walk along the coast or take the family to the beach for the day. Visit Allerthorpe Woods where you’ll find a nature reserve and plenty of walking routes. Wolds Gliding Club is nearby offering gliding and flying experiences, or perhaps you’d prefer a more relaxing boat trip along Pocklington Canal.
