Nestled between the Peak District and the Pennines on this leafy street with historic Georgian Villas, this historic townhouse has an interior packed with modern design features and super-comfy furniture. Norfolk House is the ultimate getaway for groups looking to explore Yorkshire in style. Arranged over four sprawling floors, and available as a self-catered house or replete with a private chef to whip up a bespoke menu for you and your guests, Norfolk House really is a uniquely luxurious holiday spot, ideal for any parties with real celebrating to do.
Suited to guests who are looking for the boutique hotel experience while retaining the privacy of a luxury villa, this Grade II listed mansion dates back to the Georgian era, but has been comprehensively renovated internally to create an extraordinary space where you'll never be bored. A combination of striking contemporary art, original architecture features and ultra-glamorous fittings and furniture have created a remarkable space that was featured in Hello Magazine. From a multi-person hot tub to the secret roof top garden, this is a space which abounds in thrilling features. Guests will love the games room and the forty foot all-purpose entertaining space, with a karaoke set up, full cocktail bar and a vintage record player with 80s vinyl records.
All told, the property can comfortably accommodate as many as 21 guests, with four spacious suites on the first floor, each with their own en suite bathroom. There's also a large-scale attic suite space with room for six more guests and access to the roof terrace, and the popular garden room downstairs which easily sleeps a further six people. If you decide not to opt for the private chef, then the spacious kitchen has all you need to cook delicious meals for your entire group and there is plenty of room around the extensive dining table for guests to enjoy grand, social suppers.
Whether you're in town for a wedding, milestone birthday, hen night or a special celebration, you won't find any property like Norfolk House. It's ideal for large groups thanks to the 20 person dining table, the leafy courtyard with sprawling Yorkshire views, and the zen spa treatment room. There's even a dedicated entertainment space with antique chandeliers and leather sofas, meaning this truly is a one of a kind getaway.
With such a special house and grounds, most guests tend to remain on-site and squeeze all of the luxury and enjoyment out of the property. That said, you'll be pleased to learn that a short stroll away you can find an award winning 32-acre Victorian park, with everything from tennis courts to a miniature railway line, and even a quaint and intimate restaurant. A little further afield, head to the unmissable Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a stroll among world class art, followed by lunch at the wonderful restaurant. The guided tour and sampling at Holmfirth Vineyard is also strongly recommended.
