Located in a Yorkshire village overlooking scenic open countryside, this luxury home has been designed with entertaining and comfort in mind. With a huge garden, sociable living areas, a sauna and a hot tub, it has everything you’ll need for a memorable family reunion or getaway with friends.
At the centre of this welcoming house, you’ll find the large lounge which boasts three leather sofas, facing a cosy log burner. This is a great spot to gather everyone together, maybe to play one of the board games from the huge selection on offer, or to enjoy a post-dinner drink. If you want a bit of time away from the hubbub, head to the cosy snug next door where you can curl up on the sofa with a good book or enjoy a game on the PS4 or Xbox 360.
Keen cooks will love the sleek kitchen which is kitted out with state-of-the-art appliances and a table for eight – ideal for breakfast or a mid-morning snack. For a more sociable dining experience, the separate dining room seats up to 16 at a large oak table that cleverly transforms into a pool table so you can enjoy a game after your meal.
Further entertainment can be found in the cinema room which boasts surround sound, a high-definition projector and comfy seating. Just connect your own stick or laptop, or bring a DVD for the supplied DVD player, and pull down the blackout blinds for an authentic cinema experience. Or if pampering is more your thing, slip on the robes and slippers provided and head to the indoor sauna or the outdoor hot tub with a view.
When it’s time for bed, you’ll be spoilt for choice with seven themed bedrooms, each decorated in its own unique style. And with five ensuites and two bathrooms, there’ll be no need to queue for the shower in the morning.
The outdoor space at West Acre is just as impressive as the indoor, with a pretty landscaped garden, large patio and BBQ area. There are plenty of games to keep you busy, including ping pong, basketball and croquet, and thanks to the thatched 12-seater African hut, you can enjoy being outside whatever the weather. Children are also well catered for here with a kids’ playground and playhouse.
With all this on offer, you might choose not to leave the comfort of West Acre, but if you do decide to venture out, you’ll find a village pub five minutes’ walk away and mile upon mile of open countryside to explore. And the historic city of York, with its medieval lanes, impressive cathedral and choice of museums, is just a 30-minute drive away.
