Anyone searching for a short term, luxurious stay in the Surrey Countryside will not find anything to surpass Cowshot Barn which is situated in the 4 1/2 acre gardens of Cowshot Manor, a Grade 2 Listed Building of historic interest, built in the reign of Elizabeth 1st. Although most of the barn's oak beams were erected in the 17th Century, the barn was painstakingly renovated to modern standards in a two-year restoration completed in 2014. It has underfloor heating and a fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances, enhanced by fossilised limestone flooring and extra-wide granite work tops.
The two-metre wide bed made from ancient oak beams is located in the galleried bedroom with ensuite bathroom.The spacious lounge and dining room is perfect for entertaining family or friends. An in and out driveway makes for easy access and added privacy. Guests are welcome to relax and take in the views of the extensive gardens, equipped with comfortable furniture for lounging and dining and complete with a choice of charcoal or gas barbeques. Many of our guests enjoy seeing the deer, badgers, foxes and a wide variety of birds which are frequent visitors to the gardens.
The barn's bed and huge L-shaped sofa are super-comfortable - perfect after a day spent walking, cycling, dining or exploring.
There are miles of wooded walkways on the heathlands across the road from the front gateway. 200 metres away is the Basingstoke Canal, a waterway along which you can cycle or walk to the Thames at Weybridge or to waterside pubs.The picture postcard village of Pirbright is one mile away and overlooking its cricket green are two lovely gastro pubs. There are many more pubs and restaurants in nearby villages like St Johns, Chobham, Bagshot and West End; this is a beautiful part of Surrey.
The location and high specification of the barn is ideal for those looking for temporary, luxury well-appointed accommodation.
