Country charm meets modern comfort at this apartment housed in an old mill on the Millbrook Estate. You’ll notice carefully restored original features, including timber beams and a water wheel, visible through a feature window. The place is kitted out with everything you need for a restful and romantic stay, from a fully equipped kitchen for easy cooking to a turntable in the living room for playing your favourite records while enjoying a hearty slice of the homemade cake from the welcome hamper.
This first-floor home begins with a living space, where a cosy sofa welcomes you to kick back in front of your favourite series on the smart TV while Alexa-controlled lighting lets you curate the perfect ambiance with the sound of your voice. And why not wet your whistle with a beverage from the honesty bar? In the kitchen, high-end Dualit appliances and Emma Bridgewater crockery ensure a pleasant cooking and dining experience. Should you have any scraps left over from preparing a roast dinner, feel free to feed the chickens that roam the grounds.
When it’s time to get some sleep, the bedroom features a king size divan bed with a bespoke mattress and luxurious Egyptian cotton linens. But before you draw the curtains, enjoy views of the estate’s lake and alpacas. The room also boasts a free-standing bath, fluffy dressing gowns for wrapping up in after a long soak and underfloor heating. There’s a separate bathroom with a practical power shower and a unique penguin feature wall, adding a touch of playfulness.
Enjoy some fresh air with a walk along meadow and woodland trails right on your doorstep before treating yourself to a unique relaxation experience amidst nature in the hot tub or wood-fired sauna. There’s also a BBQ house for alfresco dining, whatever the weather. If you’d like to dine out, The Bell Inn serves some excellent fare and is only a 15-minute drive away. On a sunny day, should you fancy an afternoon at the seaside, Westward Ho! Beach is reached no more than 40 minutes by car.
