Located on a cosy and picturesque family nursery a stone’s throw from the stunning rolling South Downs, Blue Lodge is a beautifully designed and built lodge, packed with pleasing touches and available to rent on a self-catered basis. Ideal for families or friend groups looking for a chic and comfortable space within easy reach of the South Coast and walking distance of shops and a pub, Blue Lodge is bound to leave you feeling restored and reinvigorated.
The property can comfortably sleep up to six guests between three bedrooms, and with spacious rooms benefitting from large windows and high ceilings, you won’t feel cooped up if rain forces you to stay in and play a board game. The house is arranged around an open plan kitchen, dining and living room which benefits from a central skylight and exposed rafters. The kitchen is a real delight to cook in, with everything you could need to whip up feasts for six using produce from the farm which the lodge is located on.
Days are spent out walking the downs, making day trips to Worthing, or swimming and sunbathing on the famous beaches of Sussex. In the evenings, guests tend to congregate in the main space to cook and chat together, or unwind on the decking outside with its hot tub. There is a brilliant pub just fifteen minutes away in an area with local shops and great eateries.
In the summer months, enjoy a glass of local wine in the sun, and cook on the grill, and in the chillier seasons snuggle up inside and watch a movie on Netflix. Each of the bedrooms is expansive and beautifully designed, with ultra-comfortable beds and abundant storage space, as well as the individual touches and bespoke furniture which make this such a remarkable house.
This is a walker’s paradise, with the National Trust South Downs footpath snaking just past the gates in front of the lodge. Spend your time on the rolling downs, beautiful in every season, or head south and find yourself in Worthing, a charming and vibrant seaside settlement. Brighton is a little further along the coast, with its brilliant live music scene, countercultural vibes and historic charm. Closer to home, investigate Ferring with its wonderful restaurants and pub, and Highdown Hill. Whether your ideal holiday involves lengthy hikes with a picnic, a five minute drive and then all day on the beach, or lounging around a truly exquisite lodge with your loved ones, Blue Lodge really does have it all.
