Set within ancient woodland in the Cairngorms National Park, Baddengorm Lodge is perfect for quiet trips with family or groups of friends looking to escape the hustle and bustle. You’ll find the lodge in a clearing amongst the trees, with 10 acres of grounds to explore. A stream flows gently past the house and down to a lochan and a dedicated fire pit area where you can sit out late into the evening soaking up the scenery. Spend your days enjoying long walks and bike rides in the Cairngorms before sinking into the enormous sofa in the living room and relaxing in front of the wood burner.
The lodge is bright and spacious with open plan living areas and enormous floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere, letting in plenty of natural light and helping you make the most of the scenery. You’ll be able to enjoy the view whether you’re rustling up dinner in the living room, enjoying breakfast at the table or relaxing on the sofa. The interior feels cosy with wood panelling on the walls and ceilings, mirroring the woodland outside, and a stylish free-standing circular wood burner in the heart of the living space.
There are five bedrooms in total, with plenty of space for up to 10 guests and each with its own bathroom. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one double with an ensuite shower room and a large room that can be made up with a super-king size bed or as a twin. This room has a luxurious roll top bath in the ensuite, perfect for a long soak after a walk in the National Park. The other three bedrooms, two doubles and a twin, are upstairs on the first floor and all are made up with cosy bed linen and fluffy towels waiting for you.
On sunny days, head outside to the large garden and light the BBQ or just sit and take in the scenery. There are 10 acres of grounds to explore, through the woodland and along the banks of the stream. You’ll also find some handy storage space for bikes and canoes. On cooler afternoons, take refuge in the games room, equipped with table tennis, snooker and table football.
There’s plenty in the way of outdoor activities in the area, from walking and cycling in the summer to skiing in the winter months. Aviemore is just 15 minutes down the road and a good place to start any adventure. You’ll find everything you need in terms of equipment and advice as well as a funicular railway that will take you up Cairngorm Mountain. The historic town of Carrbridge is just a two minute drive from the lodge, a great place to stock up on supplies and is renowned for being home to the ‘Golden Spurtle Competition’ where the World Porridge Champion is crowned.
