Tucked away in the stunning Suffolk countryside, The Abbey Cottage is a 17th century thatched cottage that sits between the historic Bury St Edmunds and the enchanting village of Lavenham. This stylish getaway, enveloped by lush, mature gardens, comfortably accommodates up to eight guests, offering a blend of comfort and luxury.
The Abbey Cottage offers you a number of ways to relax and unwind, whether that’s with an indulgent dip in the hot tub, or some time away from the rest of the group in the peaceful shepherd’s hut.
Spend your afternoon socialising in the cosy lounge with its exposed wooden beams or out in the conservatory whilst gazing out over the garden. When the weather’s warm you can gather out on the lawn for a game of croquet or head to the garden room to enjoy a drink whilst breathing in the fresh country air.
The cottage has a nicely equipped, modern kitchen that makes preparing meals for your group a breeze. And there’s a lovely, cosy dining room where you can enjoy long social dinners that stretch into the night.
When bedtime beckons, the cottage has three beautifully designed bedrooms - each featuring king size beds and one with an ensuite. The shepherd's hut outside also adds an extra touch of cosiness, accommodating two additional guests in either a king bed or single beds. If you need flexibility, then one of the bedrooms can easily convert to singles upon request.
If you want to head out and explore the area, then the charming streets of Bury St Edmunds are well worth a visit. Visit the stunning St. Edmundsbury Cathedral and the historic Abbey Gardens. Don’t miss the bustling market, offering local produce and crafts.
Nearby, the picturesque village of Lavenham is famous for its well-preserved mediaeval architecture; stroll through its quaint lanes and visit the Guildhall. You can also enjoy a walk in the stunning Suffolk countryside, or indulge in local cuisine at cosy pubs and eateries, making for a delightful day out.
