Get closer to nature and surround yourself in gorgeous Clackmannanshire scenery at Brucefield Estate. These wonderful eco bothies are nestled in a beautiful forest and offer modern amenities, comfy furnishings and stunning views of your surroundings. Inside each bright and airy bothy is a combination of Scandi and Scottish design. That means birch and beech is used throughout, whilst the bothies also offer up beautiful Scottish artisan furnishings such as Amy Britton tweeds and Skyeskyns sheepskins. You'll also have organic Scottish skincare products to use throughout your stay for an added touch of luxury.
Each of the bothies sleeps two guests, providing couples with a glorious, romantic retreat. The living space features a stylish and comfy seating arranged around a Danish Morso woodburning stove. Here you can sit with a glass of wine staying cosy all year round, whilst taking in the amazing views through the huge windows that flood the space with natural light. This is the perfect spot for long chats into the night or a nice morning coffee (locally roasted) whilst plotting the day ahead. Or, when the weather’s warm, take your morning coffee out on your terrace and breathe in that fresh country air whilst listening to the sound of the woods.
The bothies also feature a quaint, but nicely equipped, kitchen area, complete with a hob, oven and fridge. Or, in summer, why not enjoy some alfresco cooking before sitting around the firepit gazing up at the stars? Back inside, there is also a fully functional, modern bathroom complete with a rainhead shower, WC, and underfloor heating to keep you toasty and warm in winter.
When it comes to bedtime, the bothies have a sleeping gallery that can either be set up with twin mattresses or a super-king mattress on Tatami mats. Guests can wake up to the peace and tranquillity of the woods before tucking into the delicious, locally sourced welcome pack that's provided on your arrival (top-ups can be ordered).
Environmentally-conscious travellers will be pleased to learn that the bothies were constructed using a fabric-first approach. This puts emphasis on the performance of construction materials to reduce the need for building energy usage. The bothy walls are insulated to today’s residential building standards, meaning they are cosier than the average UK home, which in turn ensures your stay has a lower impact on the environment!
When it comes to filling your days, you may wish to explore the 1000 acre Brucefield Estate with its variety of marvellous habitats including beautiful, semi-ancient woodlands of Scots pine, birch and oak as well as heathery heath, wet meadows and fields. These gorgeous locations support a rich biodiversity of plants and animals, many of which are of conservation importance such as the pine marten, red squirrel, green woodpecker, lapwing, woodcock, tree sparrow, reptiles, barn owls and bat species. Feel free to explore the estate on foot and take it all in with your loved one.
If you wish to venture further afield, the surrounding area also has lots of things to see and do. You may wish to visit the beautiful village of Dollar with its hillside Glen and Castle Campbell. History lovers simply must head to the Royal Burgh of Culross, which is a National Trust for Scotland conservation village with a bright yellow 17th century palace. Other historic sites in the area include Stirling Castle, the Wallace monument, Cambuskenneth Abbey and Dunfermline Abbey and Palace. You may also wish to visit some of the outstanding nearby towns and cities. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, St Andrews, and Stirling are all within an hour or less via car.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay, and as beautiful as the scenery/cabin was, it was the people at Brucefield who made it. We booked very last minute the night before, yet they called outside of working hours just to make sure we had all the info we needed. We got to Alloa by train, so the estate recommended a local taxi driver to pick us up. He was so friendly, and so helpful, and also pointed out some of the local landmarks on the way. Then we were greeted by the groundskeeper who had such a passion for the estate it was infectious. They gifted us a tree planting activity because we didn’t travel by car, they brought our bikes right to the cabin and had lots of great advice and tips about what to do. Genuinely, cannot emphasise how great everybody we met was. The estate had 3 lovely walks, lots of lambs and is right next to a cycling route. The cabin was great, it was clean and had everything we needed (salt, pepper, utensils etc) as well as a delicious loaf of sourdough and fresh honey. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was great, we honestly had no complaints. We saw red squirrels, deer and hare as we sat around our campfire, it was beautiful. We are 100% coming back at some point, cannot sing their praises enough!

Such a beautiful little house - really lovely design features and so cosy with the woodburner. We really enjoyed being surrounded by nature and right beside traffic-free cycling routes for miles of easy pedalling. There are plenty farm shops nearby and small towns with independent, interesting shops. The Schenbothies are a treat!

We stayed for four nights in September and had a lovely time! Everything from the welcome products (the bread was amazing!) to the beds and biscuits for the dogs was well thought out and added to what was already a great location. We also booked the history walk with Victoria and she was very friendly and knowledgable about the the area, and we got to see areas we wouldn't necessarily have seen ourselves on our regular walks. We returned from our trip, relaxed and stress-free, while our elderly dogs (including one particularly lazy dog who usually prefers blankets to walks) seem to be five years younger and have a newfound interest in long walks! We'll definitely be back and hopefully with some family or friends!

We stayed three nights in one of the Brucefield Estate's wonderful bothies - really well designed inside and out, practical, eco, with nice Scandi-Scottish styling. The bothies are well situated within the surroundings, offering beautiful vistas, day or night. Siting and eating by the fire pit is a must (weather permitting) are trips to the nearby towns. We took our bikes and made the most of the great cycle routes - especially NCN764 - visiting the picturesque Culrose (the 'Stickman Tacos' food truck is excellent if you can catch it at the weekends) and Dollar (Dollar Glen is lovely) Dawid was great and made us feel welcome as well as offering a wealth of information about what the local area has to offer. In all superb!

We loved everything about our stay. The bothies are really beautifully designed and appointed. Everything has been given careful thought, from the utensils in the kitchen to the placement of the windows and the orientation of the bothy itself. We were always warm and cosy regardless of the wintry conditions. We slept deeply on the super comfortable bed. The team could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We loved exploring the surrounding estate and felt no need or wish to leave it for the duration of our visit. We left feeling revitalised, inspired and uplifted. Highly recommended.

Amazing find! We stayed in one of the bothies and were very pleasantly surprised with the design and structure of the cabin. Clearly very well thought out with sleek finishing touches - requires all that you need in a small space. Insulation is great which makes it cosy all year round. Very eco-focussed with lots of recyclable/ reusable equipment. A fireplace both inside and out, and they kindly gave us marshmallows to toast. A responsive team who were always on hand to help, and great instructions on finding the location. Could not recommend more and for a great price! Thanks again for making our weekend memorable!

My partner and I stayed in one of the bothies for my birthday and had the most wonderful relaxing, peaceful few days in the middle of nature, away from the city noise. It was only a short drive from Glasgow which was ideal for us. There was a Morrisons close by which is where we went on the first evening to buy things for cooking a meal on our first night - the wee kitchen has everything you need! On my birthday, we got up early - I dropped my partner off at the Alloa golf course while I walked the circular route around Ben Cleugh, enjoying a day in the Ochil Hills. It was stunning. We went out for a meal in Alva in the evening. It was the small details throughout the bothy that we loved - you will see how much time has been spent thinking of everything - the fresh local breakfast ingredients provided were lovely and the local-made toiletries smell amazing! The fire was a dream too - the bothy was lovely and warm! We loved sitting outside each evening under the stars before coming inside to a warm fire. The hosts were wonderful too, and truly cared about us having the best stay possible. They even called us to see if we needed anything one afternoon - they were so friendly. Would definitely go back there to stay and have already recommended it to so many of our friends! Whether you are looking for some quiet time / need a quiet space to work for a few days (there were plenty of sockets and wifi if you need these)/looking to explore the hills/golf in the area, this place is for you! Wish we could have stayed longer!

There aren’t enough stars to exemplify how beautiful and brilliant this place is. The customer service at Brucefield is hands down the best I’ve ever experienced, the whole team were determined to ensure every need was met. They even helped to arrange a proposal which was nothing short of magical and took place (with their help) in the middle of the woods underneath the stars. For lots of reasons we hope to return to Brucefield one day but the design of the bothy is an architectural triumph. There’s everything you could possibly need and the welcome/breakfast pack is so delicious and locally sourced. The bread was divine and the local jam was an indulgent treat! We visited with our dog who also received a welcome pack and thoroughly enjoyed the treats, bed and towel. We loved spending our evenings exploring the local area as suggested by the guide books in the bothy and visited several pubs and cafes nearby but mostly spent our evenings by the fire in the comfort of the bothy watching the stars and hoping to hear the nearby owls! The whole place is divine and we really hope we can return one day. We even took part in the history and wildlife tour led by Graham which was a really wonderful way to see some of the grounds and how sympathetically it had been designed to help nature thrive. The map with walks around the grounds was very helpful and I’m sure Brucefield has big plans to develop their luxurious experiences even further and I look forward to returning in the future.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay here. The locations is so secluded and quiet you will feel like you are a million from civilisation. The accommodation is so well equipped and finished to an exceptional standard. There are lovely touches that links the eco bothies to estate such as the personalised tiles in the walk in shower. We opted for the meal option where the estate can provide you with a meal which is in the fridge on your arrival. This made the evening very relaxed as the meal came with an instruction sheet which took the effort out of cooking. The surrounding woods and estate has numerous walk for you to relax and unwind. We even managed to see some of the estates wildlife while out strolling through the woods. We were lucky enough to get a good view of a Red Squirrel preached in a tree not to mention the Roe deer that strolled past the bothie while we were having breakfast We would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a relaxing stay set in a beautiful location I only wish we could have stayed for longer as there are lots of things to do that we didn’t have time.

We had a lovely 4 night stay in one of the bothies. Perfect for two people and a pooch. It was very stylish and has everything you needed to make it a comfy and cosy stay. There are beautiful views and walks around the estate and even spotted a red squirrel. The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast hamper was a perfect touch. Would definitely recommend.

Our stay in the bothy was absolutely perfect. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't want to leave - it was so tranquil and comfortable. The bothy's are equipped with everything you need for your stay. It was cosy and impeccably clean inside, and there are some beautiful walks in the surrounding grounds. David was friendly and accommodating to all our needs. A perfect escape!

We were invited to try the new Schenbotheys on Brucefield Estate and were hugely impressed! The fixtures and fittings are superb, and attention to detail second to none. The botheys are located in mature woodland, with easy access, and offer peace and tranquility. The only sounds at night are the owls, and occasional deer in the early mornings. Inside, the botheys are extremely comfortable and luxurious, and very well equipped. In July, we didn't really need the woodburning stove, but it provided a cosy atmosphere and was very simple to use. Our dog love it! The rainfall shower was a joy, more luxurious than I would expect in a bothey! The kitchen has everything you could need to create simple meals, and a breakfast hamper full of great local products is provided, the sourdough bread was delicious!! The sleeping gallery was an adventure, and very cosy & comfortable! Dawid, the property manager, was friendly and helpful. He provided ample information about walks and activities available on the Estate and further afield, and was on hand to answer any queries that arose. We had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return!
