Tucked away in a quiet spot on the Millbank Estate with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, this Scandinavian-inspired holiday cabin is the perfect escape for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The estate is located on the outskirts of Amlwich, a charming coastal town in Anglesey. It was once home to the steward of the nearby Parys Mountain Copper Mine, at one time the largest in the world. It's now the perfect base for exploring the island, with idyllic beaches and coastal paths on your doorstep, historic sites nearby and some great pubs and restaurants. After a bit of exploring, you'll be able to put your feet up back at the cabin, relaxing in the outdoor bath or stargaze by the fire pit.
You'll find the cabin nestled within the walled garden of the estate, offering plenty of privacy and seclusion. The cabin draws inspiration from Scandinavian design with its timber frame and cladding, low consumption of water and energy and stylish, uncluttered interior. It has been designed to withstand the extremes of an Arctic winter and temperatures of -35 degrees celsius, so you'll be cosy and warm whatever the weather outside.
Inside, you'll find an open-plan living and sleeping space, centred around the big arched window with its views over the surrounding countryside and a glimpse of the sea in the distance. There's a well-equipped kitchenette with everything you'll need to cook up simple meals and a comfortable living area with a table and chairs perfectly positioned for enjoying the view. To the other side of the space, you'll find the cosy sleeping nook, with its king size mattress and soft, fluffy bedding. There's an ensuite bathroom with a Swedish waterless toilet just beyond the kitchenette.
Outside, you'll have your own private space with seating and a fire pit so you can sit out and enjoy the scenery late into the evening. You can even do a bit of stargazing as you toast marshmallows after the sun has set in the beautiful dark skies. You can also soak it all up from the comfort of the outdoor copper bathtub, tucked away to the side of the cabin and in prime position to enjoy the view.
If you can tear yourselves away from your peaceful hideaway, there's plenty to explore and do in the surrounding area. There are spectacular landscapes on your doorstep waiting to be discovered on foot or by bike, with coastal paths, sweeping countryside and picturesque beaches just a short distance away. Visit historic sites such as Neolithic tombs, medieval castles and Wales' only working windmill. Get your bearings with a boat trip around the island or try your hand at water sports such as kayaking or paddleboarding. There are also some great dining options, from fish and chips by the beach to fine dining restaurants such as Sosban & The Old Butchers which has a Michelin Star.
