Set in the Welsh countryside, just 10 minutes from Snowdonia National Park, Caban y Gors and Caban Marta are two eco-friendly cabins, perfect for couples or small families. They’re set on what was once a working farm and with Snowdonia’s mountains offering a spectacular backdrop, they offer a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. With a focus on sustainability, both cabins have been furnished with reclaimed, organic and locally made furnishings, creating spaces that are cosy and authentic. Spend your days relaxing, enjoying holistic treatments on site or heading out to explore Snowdonia in one direction and Anglesey in the other, before snuggling up in your cabin or doing a bit of stargazing out on the deck.
Caban Marta has been designed to comfortably accommodate two adults and one child or teenager. It’s set in the farm’s garden and has been built largely using reclaimed and recycled materials. Inside, you’ll find that it has its own shower room and kitchenette, so there’s no need to leave any home comforts behind. Outside, there’s a private patio area where you can relax in the wood-fired hot tub after a long walk in the countryside or snuggle up by the fire pit to toast marshmallows late into the evening.
Caban y Gors has plenty in the way of rustic charm and is set overlooking a meadow. This romantic cabin is perfect for couples and has also been built using recycled materials. Even some of the kitchen appliances have been made from plant-based plastic. The living space opens onto its own private decking area where you can sit out and enjoy a glass of something and watch the sunset. The cabin is also nicely located close to the site’s boutique washing facilities.
The cabins are surrounded by 12 acres of unspoilt countryside that’s home to all sorts of flora and fauna. If you explore, you might catch a glimpse of frogs, herons, dragonflies, owls, hares and badgers. You can also book yourselves in for aromatherapy massage and yoga sessions on site for that extra bit of relaxation and luxury.
Located between Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, there’s plenty of exploring to do in the area. Miles of scenic trails take you through rolling hills, lush woodlands and towards the mountains beyond. Pack a picnic and enjoy your lunch on one of Snowdonia’s mountain trails or overlooking the sea on Anglesey’s spectacular coastline. There are several rivers and lakes in the area, making it a great spot for a bit of fishing or bird watching. Bangor is also nearby with plenty of great restaurants or you could stop off at one of the friendly pubs in the local villages for some traditional Welsh cuisine.
