Set on a traditional Welsh farm at the foot of Beacon Hill, sit Beacon View Pods. These charming neighbouring cabins, Heather and Fern, offer guests a luxurious stay in the county of Powys, with unrivalled vistas of the undulating countryside. The family run farmstead houses numerous animals, so do feel free to say hello. And for those clear evenings, why not kick back and enjoy the scenery from the comfort of your very own hot tub? Whether you're looking for a relaxing escape away from the rat race of city life or seeking a base from which to explore the greater mid-Wales and border region, these farmyard gems are sure to meet your every need.
The pods are constructed of the finest timber, ensuring a seamless blend with the local terrain. Each pod is entirely self-contained, the open planned living areas of each contain a two-seater couch which sits in front of a cosy wood burner, while the adjacent sleeping area houses a double bed. On the other side of each cabin sits the kitchenette area and breakfast bar. Each bathroom has a WC, basin and walk in shower. Step out through the floor to ceiling folding patio doors and onto the spacious decking area. Here, you can sit around your own BBQ and firepit, relax at the table and chairs, or soak in the views from your very own private hot tub.
The area is a nature lover's dream, with numerous walking trails near the farm to enjoy. Glyndwr's Way, Kerry Ridgeway, and Jack Mytton Way are all great options. The nearby ancient Offa's Dyke also offers tremendous views of the surrounding area, while the Shropshire Hills AONB is just a few miles away. If you fancy a tipple, then the village of Felindre is two miles from the farm and houses its own local pub. In Beguildy, another charming Welsh village, you will find The Radnorshire Arms, serving local ales and traditional fare. Should you wish to venture further afield then the greater mid-Wales and border area is home to plenty of lovely towns and villages such as Knighton, Llandrindod Wells, Ludlow, and Welshpool - home to Powsy Castle.

Just back from 4 nights stay in the Heather pod and absolutely loved it ! The pod had everything we needed to feel comfortable - super comfy bed , reclining sofa and the log burner warmed the pod up in minutes . We loved chilling in the fabulous hot tub and taking in the views ! The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the owner Lin was so friendly - would love to stay again ! David & Gill

What a beautiful place! My partner and I had a lovely relaxing stay in Fern pod, the view was outstanding and our pod was everything that we could have asked for and more. We would definitely stay again, location very secluded and loved our neighbouring sheep and cows. The welcome eggs, flowers and bottle of fizz was a lovely surprise. The fire pit and bbq came in handy and allowed us to cook outside and enjoy the views. The pod was well cleaned and maintained, along with the hot tub. Lin was fantastic at communicating with me when arranging our stay and was so helpful. I wish we could have stayed for another week! Highly recommended and have been telling all my firend about this place! Thank you Lin

Wow!! I can’t recommend this place enough! We absolutely loved the stay at Becon View Pod. Me and my boyfriend needed a nice getaway trip and we wanted to bring our dog with us too. It’s our first glamping experience and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We had such a relaxing and amazing time. The big highlight for us was the stunning view. Lynn was so great to us, she welcomed us with fresh farm eggs, beautiful fresh flowers and even little cute treats for my dog which she loved by the way. Despite the weather wasn’t in our favor staying at beacon view pod made everything more warming and the hot tub was perfect for it! It’s defiantly a place I would revisit again. It was just what we needed. Thank you.

Our pod Fern completely exceeded our expectations, I took my fiancé here as a surprise for his 30th birthday, and I think it's fair to say he absolutely loved it!! The pod itself was super cute, very clean, spacious and had everything inside that you could need for a short stay, plus the views were absolutely stunning, there was nothing around for miles.. Except for the sheep! It was just perfect. Lin the host was amazing, so accommodating and quick to reply to my emails. The fresh flowers, farm eggs and a bottle of prosecco was such a lovely welcoming touch! We loved chilling in the hot tub morning and night and then getting all cosy in the pod in the evenings with the log burner on. Lin was great and even topped up our logs when we had ran out. There is a choice of three walks/hikes you can go on from the pod, it was so lovely to explore the local area and all the directions for these walks can be found in the welcome pack which was super helpful! We would highly recommend ordering a grazing board from Sophie at 'The Hillside Kitchen', it was beautifully presented and so delicious, Sophie even delivered it directly to our pod, which made for an extra special night in! Pizza 51 (located in The Golden Lion Pub) in Knighton was an absolute gem of a find. This was hands down THE best pizza we have EVER eaten and it's only a short 20 minute drive from the pod. They only serve pizza on a Friday and Saturday though, so plan your visit. Also during your stay you should definitely try to visit Elan Valley, this was only a 40 minute drive from the pod. We hired bikes for the day here and cycled all around the dams and reservoirs. Make sure you book your bikes in advance! The scenery was absolutely breath taking, this is an absolute must do in our opinion!! Thank you for everything Lin, you made our stay extra special!! We can't recommend this pod enough, we just wish we stayed longer.

Found this pretty last minute and Lin replied straight away. Stayed for my leap year birthday and it DID NOT disappoint. It was raining but the view still couldn't have looked more beautiful. The trails were a nice little challenge with breath taking scenery. The place was spotless and really warm and toasty inside! My dog was well catered for and the hot tub was amazing of a night with the starry sky - I honestly haven't seen that many stars all at once it was fabulous. Used the fire pit BBQ outside with our complementary prosecco, whilst out dog had her complimentary treats. The fresh eggs were on another level too. Definitely will recommend to friends and family and would stay again for sure. Thanks for a lovely stay

Writing this over a year after I stayed because I forgot to write one at the time, but I am still dreaming about this staycation. Honestly everything was perfect, we enjoyed the hot tub and the log burner so much! It was so peaceful and relaxing! Everything was clean and so spacious for such a small pod. It had everything you would want. The second I get chance, I will definitely stay again. Couldn't recommend enough!
