Twll Barn is a modern, spacious retreat tucked away in a peaceful Welsh hillside, offering groups of up to eight guests a wonderful place to stay. Originally a 17th century threshing barn, this stay has been lovingly converted into a stylish home from home, with lots of space for you and your loved ones to spread out and socialise in style.
The main social hub of the barn is the open plan living area. Here, high ceilings combine with huge floor-to-ceiling windows to create a space that is big, bright and flooded with natural light. From the comfort of the big sofas in the lounge area, you can gaze out through the windows and enjoy the amazing views of the rolling Powys hills. The lounge space also features a underfloor heating and a cosy log burner ensuring you stay toasty and warm all year round, and a giant TV for movie nights with your loved ones.
At the other end of the open plan living space you’ll find the modern kitchen, which is nicely equipped with everything a budding chef will need to prepare delicious feasts for your group. There’s a giant kitchen island here too, so you can sit with a drink in hand keeping the designated chef company as they work away. The Quooker tap means a cup of tea is never far away and the large American style fridge freezer ensures no-one will go hungry. The dining area extends beyond the kitchen and is located below the vaulted ceiling, with original beams that run the length of the barn.
When the weather’s warm, be sure to step out through the glass doors onto the grand terrace, which has lots of alfresco seating for your group. Sit here with a drink in hand enjoying the view as you spot barn owls and swallows in the sky. There’s also a beautiful large lawn here, for fun and games (badminton or croquet anyone?), and a BBQ should you wish to get to work grilling some local produce.
When night falls, you and your loved ones can drift off in utter comfort across four beautifully appointed bedrooms, each featuring sumptuous king size beds dressed in crisp white linens. Every bedroom boasts its own private bathroom, with the master suite stealing the show, featuring a luxurious open-plan design complete with a stunning egg-shaped stone bath for indulgent soaks. For added privacy, the fourth bedroom and its bathroom are tucked away in a charming detached annexe.
During your stay you will also have use of your own personal gym and yoga area, should you wish to enjoy a workout or morning stretch. And, with fantastic proximity to hiking and biking trails, guests have the opportunity to really focus on their health and wellbeing.
Nestled in the heart of mid-Wales, Twll Barn is perfectly positioned to offer something for everyone. The historic market town of Welshpool awaits, brimming with independent shops, cosy eateries and the magnificent Powis Castle with its enchanting gardens. Train enthusiasts will love the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway, while nature lovers shouldn’t miss a visit to the breathtaking Lake Vyrnwy. Venture just across the border into Shropshire, and in 45 minutes, you’ll find yourself in the vibrant town of Shrewsbury. Explore the award-winning Market Hall, take a riverside stroll in Quarry Park or enjoy a show at the Severn Theatre or Market Hall Cinema.
