Come aboard the Wild Duck, a former boat that is now on land and has been converted into a charming holiday home. Located at Heacham on the North Norfolk coastline, the boat - which was built back in 1878 - offers a unique and romantic experience.
Sitting among the sand dunes the Wild Duck provides stunning views of the river and the sea beyond from elevated decks around the property.
The family-friendly retreat has three bedrooms. The master bedroom with built-in wardrobe is located in the bow to give 180 degree views of the beautiful surroundings. The double bedroom, also with built-in wardrobe, and twin bedroom (perfect for children) sit in the hull of the boat.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, hob, grill and coffee machine, as well as enough crockery and cutlery for your catering needs.
Outside you can relax on the sun terrace at the front of property and watch as the sun sets over the horizon. A barbecue and table and chairs also makes it ideal for alfresco dining.
In just one minute you can be on the beach and 200 metres from the sea, while in the opposite direction you can enjoy the beautiful stunning RSPB nature reserve and river.
A local pub is just a 20-minute walk away, while a shop can be found ten minutes from the Wild Duck. Heacham itself offers plenty of opportunities to get out and about with a number of scenic walks and cycle rides - such as that along the seafront from the promenade to Hunstanton, where restaurants and a fresh sea food shop can be found.
Why not head out onto the water and enjoy sailing, wind-surfing, or cockling. Young children will also love nearby Snettisham Park, a working farm with plenty of activities.
The country retreat of Sandringham, which has been enjoyed by the British Royal family since 1862, is just a short drive away with its 24 hectares of famous gardens. Otrher attractions include the picturesque Burnham Market is known as one of the county's best spots, where you can shop, dine or simply soak up the village atmosphere.
