Situated in an idyllic piece of New South Wales countryside, between the Kangaroo River and Broger's Creek, The Shed offers a peaceful escape for up to seven people. A former machinery shed, this property has plenty of rural charm, with exposed tin and wooden walls, a rustic fireplace, and a pleasant shabby chic style. However, there are still modern, comfy furnishings, and a fully functioning kitchen to ensure you have all you need for an enjoyable stay.
The large living space makes socialising with friends a joy. There is an extremely high ceiling, with comfy sofas facing the open fire. This is a great spot for a glass of wine with friends before dinner, or an evening in front of the fire after a long day exploring your surroundings.
This space is also home to the property's dining table, which is large enough to comfortably seat eight people, and with plenty of big windows, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner whilst being flooded with natural light. However, you may wish to dine al fresco, and if you do, then you will not be disappointed. The outdoor dining area has a wood-fired pizza oven and a BBQ, and sits next to the garden where you can pick herbs and collect free range eggs from the chickens kept on-site. You may also wish to gather around the outdoor fire pit in the evenings and stay warm whilst gazing up at the stars.
When it comes to sleeping, The Shed has three large bedrooms, and can sleep up to seven guests. Two bedrooms have king size beds, however, they can both be made into twin rooms if needed. The third bedroom has a queen size bed and a single bed (bunk style). All of the beds are fitted with electric blankets and thick quilts in winter to keep you warm and cosy all year round. The property also has a family bathroom complete with a freestanding bath tub and spacious shower.
The property comes with linen and towels, as well as free wireless internet. There is also air con for the summer, and an espresso machine stocked with fresh coffee beans that have been roasted nearby in Kangaroo Valley. And guests can also make use of the eco shop on-site, where you can buy a range of local wines, beers and ciders, delicious curries and a carefully chosen selection of sustainable eco products.
Guest will love hanging around the property in peace and quiet, but are encouraged to venture out and explore. There are a number of walking tracks through the varying landscapes that take you through paddocks, escarpment, rainforest, and offer many picnic spots with breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. You can see kangaroos, wallabies and wombats up close in their natural environment. You are also just a two hour drive from Sydney or Canberra, and six kilometres from Kangaroo Valley Village.
