Sitting within a beautifully restored old church, The Preacher’s Rest is now an incredible retreat for groups of up to six on the scenic Isle of Skye. Enjoy spectacular views over Loch Bay whilst making the most of the luxury interiors on offer throughout the home. Spend your days exploring this magnificent isle, before returning back to your lovely abode for a peaceful night with loved ones.
You and your group can gather together in the spacious living area, which has an abundance of entertainment options. You’ve got a gigantic 85-inch HD 4K Smart TV, a built-in Alexa and Apple TV, so movie nights and box set marathons are on the cards. There’s also a lovely wood-burning fireplace here and an eclectic selection of books and boardgames for you to choose from, so you could opt to leave the TV switched off and tuck into a good novel or game as the flames flicker on the fire.
When tummies rumble, head to the fully-equipped kitchen, where you’ll find everything you need to prepare hearty breakfasts, tasty lunches or delicious dinners for your group. The kitchen features a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Aga range cooker and a fab dining area with plenty of space to gather over a meal. However, if the weather’s warm, venture outside and dine alfresco on your private picnic bench.
Also outside in the private patio garden, you’ll find pink bird boxes, herb planters and outdoor seating where you can soak up the views. The front and rear gardens are well-stocked and beautifully maintained, with a dedicated gardener on hand.
Back inside, the master bedroom upstairs is a sanctuary of comfort, with a super-king size bed, ensuite bathroom and breathtaking views over the water. A second luxurious double bedroom and a cosy twin provide ample space for family or friends, and all of the bedrooms are furnished with high-end linens and plush bedding. A stylish shower/bathroom completes the space and organic Scottish toiletries are provided.
Within the neighbouring fields there is a herd of Highland cows that, at times, can be stroked and hand fed (check availability when booking) offering up the full Highland cow experience. Guests at The Preacher’s Rest can also take part in a hands-on pottery workshop at the Waternish studio – a unique experience that’s perfect for beginners, giving you the chance to explore a variety of techniques and create your own pottery pieces.
You can also venture out to explore the Isle of Skye. Towering sea cliffs, dramatic mountain ranges and windswept moors create an untamed wilderness that feels almost otherworldly. The Cuillin Mountains rise sharply against the sky, offering breathtaking hikes, while the Fairy Pools shimmer with crystal-clear waters cascading down rocky terraces.
Along the coastline, witness jagged rock formations and secluded bays, while charming villages like Portree provide a warm Highland welcome.
