Enjoy a peaceful retreat in the beautiful heart of the Lancashire countryside with a stay in this magnificent former church. With grand social spaces, huge high ceilings and amazing views of the surrounding countryside, this marvellous retreat offers groups of up to 10 guests a fantastic place to stay.
The Old Church has a number of places for you to rest and unwind including an open plan living-dining room, with a spacious dining table sitting at one end offering lovely views and a sofa and armchairs at the other. What’s more, the dining table in this room also converts into a pool table, so you can challenge your loved ones to a game after dinner!
There’s also a more cosy lounge area, featuring three striking blue sofas sitting around a wood-burning fireplace. This is the ideal spot to settle in with a glass of wine, staying toasty and warm whatever the weather outside.
Guests can also unwind in the secluded hot tub. Surrounded by lush gardens and a canopy of trees, this private oasis is your perfect spot to let go of stress. Whether under a sunlit sky or a canopy of stars, sink into the warm, bubbling water and feel your worries melt away. Ambient lighting and adjustable settings make it easy to create the ideal vibe for relaxation.
Also outside, just next to the hot tub, is a lovely alfresco seating area. These shaded sofas offer you and your loved ones an ideal place to unwind with a drink in hand as the sun begins to set.
Back inside, the high-spec kitchen brings people together. Fully equipped with modern appliances, it’s designed for easy meal prep and memorable moments. Whip up a feast or simple snacks, then gather around the spacious dining table for a celebratory meal.
End your day in one of the five elegant bedrooms, where Ottoman beds dressed in premium linens promise a peaceful night’s sleep. With nature’s gentle sounds filtering in, rest comes easily, and mornings feel as serene as nights.
If you want to venture out and explore, then there’s lots to see and do. Enjoy Rossendale’s scenic beauty with hikes along the Rossendale Valley, taking in stunning moorland views. Discover the unique Helmshore Textile Museum, ride vintage trains on the East Lancashire Railway or enjoy local arts at The Whitaker Museum. For thrill-seekers, Ski Rossendale offers year-round dry slope skiing and snowboarding.
