THE PIG-at Combe is a gorgeous honey-coloured Elizabethan hideaway just 15 minutes from the coast in Devon. It would be a perfect escape for romantic couples, solo food loving adventurers and families seeking stunning beaches and coastal walks.

Hidden within 3,500 acres of gorgeous Devon greenery THE PIG offers stunning accommodation to suit all requirements. The main house is home to snug and larger rooms, with some in the attic and some in the hayloft. There are separate cottages, more cosy nooks in the stable yard, and for those wanting a particularly romantic hideaway, they have fabulous Stream Wagons tucked away by a babbling brook three quarters of a mile from the main house. If you choose one of these unique delights you'll also have full use of THE PIG Land Rover services which will pick you up and drop you off at the main house. All of the rooms are beautifully decked out in rich fabrics with big comfy beds and a mixture of freestanding baths and monsoon showers.

Once you've settled into your idyll of choice you might like to take a mooch around the three Kitchen Gardens where much of what you'll be eating is grown. There's a vegetable garden, a herb garden and an infusion garden to explore and on the last Friday of the month there's a free guided tour for guests. If they can't produce it themselves THE PIG sources all of their remaining ingredients from farmers and small local suppliers within a 25-mile radius.

When it comes to dining you have two choices, the main panelled restaurant, which offers a beautiful setting to unwind in, and their charmingly rustic Folly hidden away in the garden which they cheekily refer to as their 'derelict chic' dining. Here you'll find chargrilled goodness and smoky flat breads with a mix of delicious toppings to choose from, and an enormous selection of fine wines to quaff. With their close location to the coast the fresh fish comes highly recommended and they do a fine line in Devonshire cheese too!

After a peaceful night's rest you might like to take your coffee up to the garden swing seat from which you can enjoy the view as you make plans for the day. For a luxurious treat you can book yourself in for some spa treatments at The Potting Shed which you'll find just beyond the herb garden. All of the treatments, including full massage and hot stones, are organic, sea inspired and provided by VOYA products who, like THE PIG, are passionate about the provenance of their ingredients.

There's a huge bar where you can enjoy an inventive inspired menu of cocktails and every other Sunday you can enjoy an evening of live acoustic music at The Folly whilst sipping some chilled English fizz. If you fancy exploring the area THE PIG highly recommends other local eateries and bars including Heron Farm Vineyard, Sea Shanty Cafe and Rusty Pig Ottery St Mary. And don't forget, you're only eight miles from the coast, so make a day of it and explore the beaches!
