What was once the kitchen in an old school has now been lovingly transformed into a truly sublime studio annex overlooking a loch in the Scottish Highlands. As you arrive on the Ardour peninsula you’ll feel your worries melt away. This marvellous retreat situated on the shores of Loch Eil opposite Fort William is the perfect setting for a romantic stay or a place to reignite your creativity.
As you approach, you’ll adore the waterfront setting, and once you step inside, we’re sure you’ll love the super-stylish interiors. The cosy living space offers Ercol armchairs that sit next to a picture window offering the ideal spot to sit with a morning coffee whilst taking in the view. When the weather’s cold outside, be sure to throw some logs on the wood-burning stove and stay toasty and warm as you relax in peace.
As you rest and unwind you’ll be surrounded by amazing art, vintage furnishings and natural textiles that perfectly complement the amazing views. The studio space also features a quaint kitchen area that has been made using the original sink and metal framework from the school kitchen that has been paired with poured concrete worktops. Prepare lovely meals using the small oven with two hobs and dine on the vintage dining table in the living space.
When night falls, head to the bed nook, where you’ll find a generous king size bed and a curtain divider that you can draw to separate the bedroom from the rest of the studio. This is a delightfully cosy space in which to enjoy a peaceful night’s slumber.
Awake feeling refreshed and head to the Japanese inspired bathroom, which has a rain shower and a luxurious deep bathtub that is ideal for indulgent soaks.
If you step outside, you’re a short walk from the shores of Loch Eil. Wander its edge as you enjoy a stroll amidst beautiful scenery. If you gaze out across the loch you might just spot golden eagles swooping overhead whilst seals, otters and porpoises play in the water.
Further afield, you can take a short drive to Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain, and hike its foothills. Make sure you bring your walking boots as there are plenty more marvellous glens and stunning lochs all around just waiting to be explored.
