From its humble beginnings as simple accommodation for the estate keeper, this once modest bothy has been transformed into a welcoming family hideaway. Rustic yet luxurious, the unique abode is steeped in history and packed full of charm.
Nestled in a clearing beside a scenic, ancient woodland, the private setting is the perfect place for an off-grid adventure. Here you can switch off and relax as you enjoy the peace and tranquillity that surrounds you, reconnect with each other and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Central to this homely accommodation is the open plan living area. Here you’ll find a comfortable sofa for lounging on after a rewarding nature walk, a log burning stove to keep you cosy on chilly evenings and a WiFi-enabled TV so the kids don’t miss their favourite shows.
The well equipped kitchen area has a dining table for four, an oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, so preparing a hearty meal and clearing up afterwards will be a breeze. On arrival at The Bothy, a welcome pack with bread, milk, eggs, butter, jam and tea bags from the local farm shop will be waiting for you.
When it’s time to lay your head after a fun day immersed in nature, the welcoming master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed to help you get a great night’s sleep. And children will love their quirky bedroom, which boasts a bespoke bunk bed made on-site from the wood of an old sycamore tree that blew down in a storm. The contemporary bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC and hand basin.
Outside you’ll find a private, covered decked area with a wooden table and chairs, a fire pit and an electric BBQ. This peaceful spot is ideal for an alfresco feast, while you listen to the birdsong and spot the wildlife that lives among the trees. There’s even an outdoor copper bath where you can enjoy a moonlit dip under the stars.
The beauty of a stay at The Keeper’s Bothy is that you can do as much or as little as you like. It’s easy to while away a pleasant day on your deck, listening to nature’s soundtrack, keeping your eyes peeled for red squirrels playing in the trees and enjoying a soak under the open sky. If you want to explore your surroundings, you’ll discover picturesque picnic spots, serene river walks, scenic biking trails and salmon and trout fishing on your doorstep. And for those seeking a bit more adventure, the Trossachs National Park, just four miles away, offers wild swimming, mountain climbing, mountain biking, canoeing and boat trips on Loch Lomond.
