The detail

The Hut is a wonderfully refurbished 19th century stone cottage that was used as a Scouts meeting hall in a previous life. It blends sumptuous luxury and cosy warmth seamlessly and would be a lovely getaway for a couple, a small family or four friends seeking tranquil surroundings in a delightful, bustling market town.

The Hut is designed upside down so you'll find the two beautiful bedrooms on the ground floor and the living and kitchen area upstairs.

The interior is light-filled with high ceilings, exposed beams and part of the original stone walls left exposed creating a spacious and airy vibe. Decorated in pale soothing creams, oatmeal and grey with soft blue accents it feels luxurious and very tranquil from the moment you enter.

Head up the spiral stairwell to the open plan kitchen, dining and living area where the light streams through the windows. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with an unusual single stove AGA and gorgeous stonework countertops where you can create delicious meals to enjoy at the four seater bespoke wooden dining table.

The attention to detail is impressive and you'll notice smooth woodwork and subtle copper finishes, whilst the butlers sink pay homage to the history of the building elevating it for modern convenience. You'll find a locally sourced luxury hamper to greet you, so crack open some goodies and settle in with a welcome drink.

The living room is cosy and welcoming with a log burner built into the original brick fireplace. Snuggle up on the plush sofa and enjoy a movie on the flat screen or curl up with a good book and a glass of wine as the sunset casts a golden hue across the space.

When it's time to rest head downstairs to the two sumptuous bedrooms. There is one king size and one double room, both nestled into the stone hallway and decorated beautifully with an elegant rustic charm. The beds are plush and comfy with White Company bedding and robes for each guest. Underfloor heating will keep your toes warm first thing, and the low wooden beams and windows framed by greenery will make everything wonderfully conducive to a relaxing night's sleep.

In the morning you can choose between the free-standing bathtub and make use of the complimentary Bath House products, or the powerful walk-in shower whilst your towel stays warm and fluffy on the heated rails.

Gather for breakfast around the table and make your plans for the day. Nature lovers could spend the day hiking Ingleborough or enjoy the pretty walk along the River Lune. Head into the town centre and wander the cobbled streets, explore the many boutique and independent shops and pick up some delicious local fare.

Kirkby Lonsdale is quaint, picture-perfect and a wonderful place for food and beer lovers! The Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery is a fun place to try some small batch local ales and Chocolat offers wonderful confections and is a great place to pick up gifts for friends and family. There's a weekly market in the picturesque square and for a great pub meal in a fantastic setting try The Royal Barn.
