Oakbank is your secluded romantic escape nestled between the Lake District National Park's towering peaks and dramatic valleys. A lovingly converted secluded stable, modern luxuries combine with traditional styling and cosy fittings. Explore miles of hiking and biking trails directly from the door, visit Windermere, Coniston Water or Ullswater and relax in a charming local pub after a long day. The Stable is also fabulously situated at the end of a delightful private track and is less than 10 minutes' walk to three pubs, two cafes and a really good shop!

Perched on a slope overlooking the tranquil Great Langdale Beck in Elterwater, Oakbank is a secluded, peaceful slice of comfort in the wild Lake District, a cosy and comfortable haven from the rugged landscape. As you enter, the huge windows with stunning panoramic views draw you into the open-plan living and dining area. In the colder months, the wood-burning stove crackles and sparks with a warming glow. Plush sofas, resplendent with thick throws and deep cushions surround the Smart TV which is perfect for those cosy evenings indoors.

Moving through to the large conservatory, lounge chairs make it the perfect spot to sit back, relax and bathe in the glorious views. Bring a pair of binoculars and spot some of the local wildlife including red squirrels, golden eagles, kestrels, ospreys and buzzards, red deer and more. Why not take your morning coffee in there to plan your day spent exploring the National Park?

The modern kitchen features everything you need for a comfortable rural escape. The oven and hob are perfect for creating warming evening meals made from fresh local produce, hearty breakfasts or light lunches to take on your travels. In the summer, dine alfresco on the terrace with an outdoor table and chairs as the wind rustles the trees around you. When the night draws in, head to your master bedroom with a king size bed and luxury ensuite.

When it comes to filling your days, you're nicely placed to try your hand at some wild swimming, which is available right on your doorstep. Nearby wild swimming opportunities include Great Langdale Beck and Elterwater, which are both just a five-minute walk away. You're also nicely placed to visit Blea Tarn (which for years featured on the opening credits of Countryfile) and also the serenely atmospheric Buckstones Jump at Rydal made famous by Alice Roberts. And Coniston Water is also just a short drive away, which is the most wonderfully serene large lake. The owners also highly recommend Alcock Tarn at Grasmere!

Nestled on the edge of the village of Elterwater, The Stable is perfectly located to explore the glorious Lake District National Park. The village is just 10 minutes away on foot and features local pubs, cafes, restaurants and shop for the essentials. Beer lovers can sample 17 different beers in multiple pubs such as The Britannia, Wainwrights and The Eltermere Inn. Guests can bring the bikes and keep them in the attached storage before exploring the stunning cycling and hiking routes in the area. Further afield, Windermere, Coniston Water, Ullswater and Scafell Pike are all easily accessible.
